Hello my beautiful diary friends,
Hope you are all well.
Food shop was delivered yesterday. Apart from that being taken out of the account we didn't spend anything else.
The overpayment has been taken from the mortgage so the balance is now
£117,890.97p
Today should be a no spend day.
Not alot happening at the moment. I'm at work tomorrow so that will be a no spend day too .
Plants are doing well.
I've set up a new way for us to "budget"
I'm going to trial it in June. I'll let you know how we do.
Having a tyre changed today on the car as it's tred it low. - covered by the lease so no cost to us.
I cant remember if I posted about it. But our TV broke just before lockdown. We have managed till now. But we have now brought a TV. We have enjoyed not having a tv tbouhj so the kids will be slightly restricted on how much they watch it so that they don't become consumed by it like they use to.
Nothing else to update on.
Have a good day everyone
Love hugs prayers and positivity to you all

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
Quick update.
Yesterday wasn't a no spend day . I spent £12 on eBay getting some shoes for my new job. And £24 at the supermarket after work getting the bits that were unavailable when our food shop was delivered on Wednesday.
Other than that we haven't spent anything.
Today will be a no spend day.
We watched a film together this morning - TV came yesterday and partner put it up while i was at work.
My details have come for my new account. So my online banking is set up and I sent a small payment to make sure the payment went through ok from my other account. So its all done and ready for the 1st of June.
Also if my new manager has given me the correct pay day for my first wages I'll get two payments in December. (Paid every 4 weeks so 13 payments a year)
Nothing else to update on.
Have a good day everyone

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
Hope you are well.
No spend day today and yesterday.
Today me and the eldest worked together going through all the cupboards and freezer to make a list of all the stuff we have.
We then wrote it on the side of the fridge with a wipe board marker.. with the idea that once we use something up we remove it off the got list and put it on the shopping list .. ill upload a photo to help explain.
I'm hoping this will help us not to overspend when food shopping. . I didn't include the fridge and that's easy enough to keep on top of.
Nothing else to really update on. I have done the food shop for Wednesdays delivery but will be editing it once I have posted this as some of the stuff we don't need.
Have a good day everyone

The fridge.
Just realised though the kids will probably end up wiping it off so I'm going to have to think of an alternativeJune 17 £16,000 debt ~ nov 18 DEBT FREE •June 21 £16,308 debt / july 22 debt free •Original mortgage free date 01/06/2059 current mortgage free date 01/05/20462 -
Hello my beautiful diary friends,
Hope you are all well.
We had a no spend day on the 18th, on the 19th partner popped to the garage for tobacco and baby wipes. (we are using our vapes so cutting down slowly) Im anxious about starting this new job. (I always get anxious going new places and starting new things) but I do really hope that once I start there I'll be able to switch completely to my vape. (if I don't manage it before). Yesterday we had the food shop delivered but other than that going out the bank we didn't spend anything. Partner is going to pop to tesco and try and get the items that were unavailable in the delivery.
I won't need to use the car until I start my new job on the 1st of June. So I won't need petrol until then.
Ds1 is doing ok with his school work.. Ds2 is struggling with it all but we keep persevering he has poor concerntration and gets distracted and tired easy so its not been easy. DD should of started nursery after the Easter holidays. I'm not sure when she will start now.
I think I'm finally happy with the slightly revised budget for when I start my new job. I'm hoping petrol will be less than I have budgeted. If it is the difference will go to savings instead.
I've also budgeted for savings which includes sinking funds to cover things that don't come out of the monthly budget. Ie school uniform Xmas birthdays , days out , clothes , replacing things etc.
Trying to get back to my old frugal ways I'm now only buying things that are genuinely needed or broken and need replacing. The general rule being if we don't need it we go without.
I'm not sure if I posted but I replaced my phone in January. I brought a cheap smart phone off Amazon for £85. And I've got to be honest I'm extremely happy with it it does everything I need it too. The only downside is the camera is poor quality but not unusable you just have to have a very steady hand (which I don't) but for £85 I have no complaints at all)
I get my payslip tomorrow for my last pay from the agency before starting my new job. I'm expecting about £300 (if I've worked it out correctly)
I'll also be sure to let you know how my new way of budgeting works out as we are going to trial it in June.
I've minanmisd my bank accounts and closed my credit card account.
We now have 2 savings accounts
- emergency fund
- sinking funds
And 2 current accounts with two different banks.
The main account is being used for income and all direct debits & bills.
The account with the new bank we will transfer a set amount to it on the 1st of every month for all other expenses (fuel, food, fun)
Any money at the end of the month left in the second account will stay in there and roll over to the next month and we will transfer the set amount minus what is left over.
Nothing else to really update on.
Have a good day everyone

hello everyone, i hope you are all well,
apart from partner getting the few things that were unavailable for delivery we haven't spent anything else. - the no spend days are starting to pile up.
ive gone through my fb groups again and removed the ones i felt weren't supportive of our frugal lifestyle. i need to keep focused with trying to save as much money as possible to pay for some repairs around the house and to buy a car next July before our car goes back in august 2021. i was hoping to get daughters room finished by the end of the year but i'm not sure now because of lock-down if it will be possible.
her room the bathroom and wall that needs to be took down and rebuilt due to damp is first on the list to get done. id like to get a small extension done too if possible in the next few years. so there is lots to pay for.

Good morning by beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
I've juggled the money around for next month's budget I also transferred what is left for this month so that's now sorted and doesn't need touching until the end of next month.
We have had 21 no spend days out of the last 30. I do include the day we get the food shop delivered as a spend day . As well as fuel and anything else we need but I don't include basic bills.
Kids are currently watching a film. Spoke to my brother last night which was nice.
I have another headache today and not felt too good the last few days (hormone related) but yesterday we blended some bread that was about to go stale into breadcrumbs. And froze it in a freezer bag ready for when we need them (I've never brought store breadcrumbs, actually until a few years ago I didn't even know you could buy them.)
I'm still going to be making overpayments to the mortgage. But I also need to start putting away some money for a car next summer.
So will do some calculations on how much I need to save each month towards that.
Have a good day everyone

Hi, just had a skim read of your diary and can't believe how much you have achieved in the last few years. It was great to read and your continued good money management is such a good example to others. I hope you enjoy your new job and meet your targets for doing up your home sooner rather than later. Well done.2
