Can you share the make and model as I'm looking to buy something that's cheap to run. X

Hiya , I've looked at a few. But a Kia Rio seems to be a good option. I'm looking at the 2015 plate which is £0 road tax , diesel , insurance group 2 and 85mpg (we all know they don't do what they say) but this is the most economical 5 seat car I can find. One I found was 30k miles £5500 .. so if I stuck to a budget of £8k like I first thought I will be able to insure it for the year and have about £2k left (I've been driving for nearly ten years)
I will see what's about next year when I'm ready to buy and the lease is up on my current car . But at the moment I think this is one I am leaning towards .. unless anyone has others to suggest. I do like the fiat 500, i10 and Ka but it just wouldn't be big enough to get all 3 kids in comfortably.
On a frugal note. I've found my vape. And I've ordered liquids and partner a new vape as his was broken. I'm hoping to be 100% vaping by the end of may. This will save us some money especially if partner goes to 100% vaping too.
We have done it before so we know we can again.
I think it will help once I'm in a different job as well as my job at the moment makes me really anxious (I was diagnosed with anxiety and anxiety attacks earlier this year)
Food shop came.
We are doing ok this last week or two since I refocused.
It feels good too be making positives steps ..

Hello my beautiful diary friends ,
Not a no spend day today. I brought some stuff for our front garden that is becoming our fruit and veg patch. But everything apart from the tomato's can be used for a few years if not more.
I hope to get a composter for the back garden. And a water butt and maybe a small greenhouse later in the year.
Hopefully we will have good produce this year I'll update with photos over the next few months
other than that nothing to really report.
Hope everyone had a good weekend

I'm hoping this fruit and veg patch will cost us nothing by 2022 but produce year after year.
I will post as the project unfolds on how we plan to do that.June 17 £16,000 debt ~ nov 18 DEBT FREE •June 21 £16,308 debt / july 22 debt free •Original mortgage free date 01/06/2059 current mortgage free date 01/05/20461 -
Good morning
welldone for doing some gardening. It really looks promising. I also did a big tidy up on Saturday. Digging, weeding, mowing and clearing up. Hired some men during winter and cleared off some hedge and trees making the garden bigger. Now I also want to plant some fruit and veg in where the hedge was. What did you plant as I just want to see what I can plant, have been looking at getting some wild strawberries, also maybe a blueberry shrub, cranberry, etc. I am not a very keen Gardner so I need mostly what will produce for some years. Will also do some kale and tomato will see.In the garden so far I have wild garlic(made the most beautiful beef stew with it also added to scrambled egg), mint, raspberry, blackberry and rosemary bush(last years dried some and use it in stews and herbal tea).So I hope to increase my perennials.XxInitial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

Thanks for the car info. I drive a VW Transporter at the moment, as it has the wheelchair lift in for my OH but as he's rarely out (mainly for hospital visits) I could really do with a runaround for the rest of the time! Mileage sounds great, the only drawback being deisel. I keep expecting to hear that the Government will tell us that we can't use it anymore!Garden is looking great. I think the one good thing that comes out of this mess may be that we all become self sufficient in fruit and veg.I Believe.....

Hello my beautiful diary friends
@Sistergold I'll be honest I just wing it. I've learnt alot from YouTube though.
@Chrystal thats a good idea. Yes I'm wondering if I'm better off going for a petrol in the long run. Although they don't tend to do so good mpg.
I have a goal by 2022 to have our garden producing at no cost to us. (Apart from water if we run out of water in our rain collecting containers (I hope to get a water butt later in the year) and a composter to save buying compost.
We have a bamboo plant coming so we can cut a few canes off it over the years to hopefully save us buying them.
I think including the stuff I have brought in previous years and with the last few things I want to buy I would of spent no more than £500 but that includes fruit trees etc. And pots. Basically the cost covers everything starting with nothing.
We made labels for our plants out of milk bottles.
Planted some pepper seeds that we saved from peppers we brought from the supermarket that we had eaten
Labeled up the garden with our milk bottle labels.
Watered the garden
And bug and insect hunted
We were out there for a while.
Today was a no spend day
Have a lovely evening everyone

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
No spend day yesterday .
Hoover broke. We brought a cheap replacement from Tesco today.
Forgot to order the food shop so did that at the same time.
Work yesterday. The job I applied for is looking positive so fingers crossed I get it.
I brought stuff for the garden over the last few weeks and games and stuff for the kids. But I promise from now going forward we are locking down on the spending.
Gone back to vaping . That's going ok. Hoping to completely quit by the end of may.
Garden is getting there.
Petrol is lasting longer in the car as in only going to work so that's positive.
I still need to order a skip. But trying to hold off until we are near the end. It's still a work in progress.. but we will get there.
I'm hoping next month will be better work wise. I'd like to be able to give the savings a good boost before my birthday in July .
I've made an overpayment to the mortgage bringing our total owing to £119,900.00 this will go up with interest throughout the month but I'm hoping to make another payment on the last day of the month to bring it back down to £119,900.00. That's nearly £4k not including interest paid off since buying June last year.
I've got to pick up my prescription and send some paperwork to the job I applied for then my to do list is empty again for now ...then it's just the general jobs etc
I'm still trying to be frugal with things where I can.
Have a good day everyone

Good morning my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well. I had a bad headache yesterday and no energy at all.
I seemed to get a reasonable night sleep. And I feel better this morning.
DD decided she would wear pants yesterday and used the potty throughout the day. We have been trying on and off for the last few months she had a few accidents but woke up this morning and we put pants on her again and she has used the potty since she got up .. so this is huge progress.
Didn't have my interview over video yesterday as the lady was unwell ... We have rescheduled for today.
Food shop ordered. I'm going to go through the cupboards in abit and edit it. I just didn't want to forget to order it again
Got a couple more no spend days in.
Trying really hard to stick to no spend this month. Especially as if I get this job I've agreed to self isolate for two weeks so that will be two weeks without pay.
Strawberries are growing well. And the blueberry plant has loads of berries on it so should get a good crop off that too.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone
