Hello everyone,
Life has been busy. I'm knackered to be honest.
Back to work tomorrow after my annual leave the last 2 weeks
Positives since I last posed
1. We came in on budget for the holiday spends
2. Blinds are being fitted tomorrow for 3 of the rooms
3. I've finished Christmas shopping for dd & ds2 and came in just under their £100 budget each
4. Started getting ds2 birthday presents for his birthday this month. Still £30 left in the budget
5. Had another builder come about the leaky roof after the last builder failed to turn up dispite a number of promises. He's coming out tomorrow to fully look at everything and we will then contact home insurance to see if we can claim off that or need to pay ourselves
6. I've got a few things crossed off my to do list but still have a few more things to do
7. I've made a huge list of everything I can think of that we want to do or work that needs doing on the house and each thing has a budget. Now I've added a budget for each thing I feel less anxious about it all
8. I've sent emails to different people that I keep putting off.
9. We have stuck to budget so far this month
10. I've been doing surveys to try and get a few extra pennies
11. Ds2 is doing his first full day at school tomorrow.
12. I have enough work with th me agnency for this month that my income is no Lower than when I was working full time (still doing around the same amount of hours but working longer days so I'll be at home 'more' and it works round the family better
13. I've actually made a start on my diploma
14. We have had no takeaways or food out since coming back off holiday
15. I've set goals for November
16. We have made a total of £400 in mortgage overpayments since we took on the mortgage
17. My blog insta*ram is slowly gaining more followers. (it's an insta version of this, on how we got out of debt and all money and family related stuff) the user name is the same as it is on here for anyone interested
Negatives
1. I havent used the gym or been swimming since coming back off holiday
2. We continue to try and reduce our food budget
Have a great evening everyone

Hello mumof3,12kindebt. Wow! Your posts are fantastic. Really inspiring. I hope this doesn't sound patronising but you should be really proud of what you have achieved and your positive attitude and intentionality will get you to where you want to know. You are obviously wise beyond your years!0

Thankyou both. Not patronising at all we all need praise and encouragement in life
Update on the money situation.
Paid for blinds to be done (think I posted about that)
Hoping to have £5k in the savings by the end of the month.
I have a few days off now. (due to shift swaps and shifts being canceled with agency. I'm not worrying about it though just trying to continue with the low spend. / no spend way so we don't feel it so much. Ds2 is poorly so it's probably worked out for the best as able to be at home to help dp out.
The aim is to get as much in the savings as possible as quick as possible so we can really start throwing money at the mortgage.
All Christmas presents have been purchased for the kids. So just siblings, parents and grandparents to get now.
I've asked my dad for pjs for xmas as mine are getting a little small. (Thankyou weight gain)
Not alot to update on to be honest.
Hope you are all well.

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
1st of December already.!
This year has just flown....
Kids have decorated their trees for their room.
They're not having stockings this year instead santa will leave one gift (maximum of £10) under their trees in their room.
We decided with it being our first Christmas in our new home it's the perfect opportunity for us to start new traditions.
It will actually save us money. And the kids won't have 'stuff' that was just brought to fill the stocking.
The elves have also made an appearance. Making snow angels on the cooker :rotfl:
Financially we did well in November and our emergency fund is now at £5400. :j:j
The kids are now watching a film while I get everything ready for school and work tomorrow put the massive pile of laundry away (I need to get into routine of putting it away once it's washed and dryed) and I need to give the house a quick blitz.
One of my goals in still working on and slowly progressing at is organisation and using my time more effectively.
I love the run up to Christmas. Let's hope December is a good month and we end the year well.
Take care everyone

Hello my beautiful diary friends,
I haven't posted since the beginning of the month. I didn't realise it had been so long
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you all a happy and healthy 2020!
We went way over budget for Christmas
I think our savings are currently at £4300.
The new year is right around the corner.
And we are aiming to do another no spend / low spend year like when we were paying off the debts and saving for our home.
Our financial goals this year are
Get emergency fund to £12,000
And then start throwing everything at the mortgage
I have loads of other goals and stuff we want to do next year but the list is really long.
It's on my insta though if you want to check it out.
Same username as here
Have a fab day everyone

I know it's crazy. I will of turned 28 just over a month prior to him starting high school.... Madness.
I'm so proud of how far we have come though in the last (nearly) 11 years...
We aren't millionaires (yet) :rotfl:but we can dream...
To think I first started my diaries on here when our youngest was 10 weeks old (I think) and she's 3 in March!
Time flies....
