Morning all. First things first very pleased to report a 3lb loss this week which takes nome over target. One more week to loose another couple of lbs before my holibobs and I will be very happy.
Hope you have all been enjoying the beautiful bank holiday weather. I’ve had the tail end of my cold over the weekend and Parkrun was a bit slow on sat but am feeling back to Kemal now, just a little cough every now and again. I fear the other half may have it now. At least he should have it done with by the time we go away.
My parents visited at the weekend and we certainly made the most of the weather. Had some lovely walks and lovely food too.
I hope you enjoy your time in Dorset Brambling and I hope the sea air helps.
I’ll be away from next Sunday. I’ll be popping in here this week but won’t be reporting anything whilst we’re away. Will more than likely come home and few lbs heavier but at the moment i’m the lightest i’ve been in a long while.
Hope you all have a great bank holiday Monday.0 -
Had a lovely day out yesterday shopping for a few bits for our holidays.
Shared a lovely kebab on flatbread with salad for lunch and then had fish and chips for tea, fish from the freezer and homemade chips in our air fryer, which was lovely.
Back at work today and will hopefully get out for a run at lunchtime. Lunch is salad, with some left over potato salad. Tea will be a crust less quiche recipe I saw last week. We'll be incorporating lots of veggies including home grown courgettes and chard and will make extra for lunches.0 -
Seems to be just me posting here at the moment
A good day had yesterday. Went out and did 5 miles at lunch, hot and slow but glad I did them. The crust less quiche for tea was lovely with some salad. Will definitely be trying that again and a great way to use up and odds and ends of veg. We have leftovers with salad for lunch the next 2 days too.
I'll be popping into town at lunch today, hoping the rain holds off a bit at least.
Nice to think it's already Wednesday.0 -

I am reading, just not posting due to not coming even close to getting my eating under control. I keep having every intention of eating sensibly but everything's really getting to me at the moment and food has always been my coping strategy. I know that it's no good for me, the fact that my clothes don't fit is really annoying me but I still can't stop.
Well done to all of those who have been losing and Brambling, I hope you have a good holiday and survive the family.0 -
:hello: I'm back after a few days away. I haven't weighed in this week I stepped on my friends scales this morning and they had me +++, I really didn't want to believe them so I'll wait until Monday and hopefully can get back on track by then. I've been getting a bit lazy and indulgent again, the weather was so nice the company good and the wine lovely and chilled, as a result I kind of lost my way eating too many carbs, savoury nibbles and a guzzling wine. My friend isn't much of a walker either and we drove or took the bus everywhere so I feel badly in need of a good stretch of the legs.
Did a f&v shop on the way back home so I'm all stocked up again. I've hardboiled the last three eggs to keep handy in the fridge and made some lentil & sweet potato pate to have with crispbread or veggie sticks for breakfast or lunches and pork chops are out to defrost for tomorrow. I just need to go and fine tune a meal plan for the next few days and prep some of the f&v; I find if its already washed, sliced, shredded I don't tend to stare into this well stocked fridge and think there's nothing I fancy and grab a slice of bread and cheese
Today =
L - ham & pineapple salad
D - haddock in breadcrumbs, braised fennel & leeks, sugar snap peas.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Hi Izadora and Need2bthrify - good to hear from others.
Izadora - i know how you feel about not wanting to post when your not making any progress but I have actually found that coming on here and airing my bad days has really helped. There's no negativity, we all struggle from time to time so it's nice to know others may be in the same situation.
Need2bthrifty - good to have you back. Good company, food and wine can be great for the soul. Stocking up with f&v is a good way to get back into the right mindset. Your pate sounds lovely, would never have thought of making something like this.
Yesterday's lunchtime walk was a bit soggy but it stretched the legs and I got a few bits from town which I wanted. Drier and brighter out today but rather windy. I dropped the car off for it's MOT this morning and then did the short walk to work. a mile run followed by another short walk to pick the car up means I've already clocked up 16500 steps so treated my self to a few giant choc buttons with my cuppa after lunch.
Only 2 more days until our holidays. Probably one more run in the form of Parkrun on Sat morning, that's if the other half is up for it as I seem to have given him my cold0 -
There's a real change in the temp today and its windy too which doesn't help. I needed a fleece on for my walk today, first time for a couple of months, I did manage 4mls although I had to slow down my usual pace when my shin splints started aching. I'll do a shorter slower walk tomorrow.Need2bthrifty - Your pate sounds lovely, would never have thought of making something like this.
It's another bbcgoodfood recipe https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1897679/red-lentil-and-sweet-potato-pt it was something I stumbled on a few years ago but haven't made it for a while. There are days when I prefer a savoury breakfast or light lunch but I became aware when I started introducing more and more veggie meals into my diet I was nowhere near the RDA of protein so looked for recipes with beans & lentils - I'd forgotten how much this recipe actually made but it does freeze okay.
Dinner tonight is a bit of a cheat with a couple of pork chops, a jar of sainsbugs basics S&S sauce, onions, peppers, and a couple of handfuls of black beans and some fresh pineapple all throw in the slow cookereasy peasy.
B - grapefruit, crispbread, hm pate & a tomato
L - egg salad with coleslaw
D - sweet & sour pork, boiled rice, beansprout & sugar snap saladJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £103.530 -
That sounds lovely, thank you Need2bthrifty.
You make a good point about protein intake. We eat a fair amount of veggie meals. When we do have fish or meat we probably eat more than an avarage portion size? but I wonder whether our protein intake could do with a bit of a boost.
Did over 18000 steps in total yesterday and had lovely sausages and roasted vegetables for tea. I've only recently tried roast cauliflower and must say I'm really liking it.
Another walk into town for me at lunch to collect an order. The other half is out tonight so tea will be salmon and salad and maybe a pitta bread if I'm feeling hungry.
Tomorrow will be using up odds and ends in the fridge. Lunch will be cheese and crackers and tea a vegetable bake made with potatoes, pepper, homegrown courgette and dwarf beans and pesto with a gratin topping.
This will probably be my last post before we are away so just to say hope you all have a great weekend and keep up the weight loss mojo.0 -

I wouldn't mind so much if it was bad days but it's more like bad months
My head and emotions are just totally scrambled at the moment so I'm trying not to beat myself up too much for being a fat so-and-so and accept that whatever it takes to get me to the end of each day is fine for now.
Have a lovely holiday and I hope your OH isn't suffering too much with your cold.0 -
s_glover, I love roast cauli too, sometimes I have it plain, other times with spices like cumin or paprika just depends what I'm having it with. Hope you have a lovely holiday and remember everything in moderation
I gave my walk a miss today, we have wind and misty rain so after I've done the ironing I might put things away upstairs one item at a time
Breakfast was a repeat of yesterday and I'll finish off the pack of ham in a sandwich with some lettuce and coleslaw. There's some boiled rice left from last night so I'm going to try making kimchi fried rice, which I'll have with some stir fried steak strips, peppers & beansprouts.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
