Thank you Izadora. Sorry to hear you have so much to deal with at the moment. As you say do what you need to, to get through the day and remember each and every day is a fresh start. Sometimes it seems like you'll never turn the corner but you will, it may just take long than you would like.

OH isn't suffering too much at the moment, hoping the worst is over by the time we fly on Sunday.

Need2bthrifty - I do struggle a little with the word moderation on holiday! Once again your kimchi fried rice, with some stir fried steak strips, peppers & beansprout sounds lovely. We sometimes make a korean steak recipe with rice, lettuce, spinach, harissa and a poached egg. I know it sounds like an odd combination but it works.

Is that bulgogi (? sp) it sounds nice

I'm finally getting around to trying out some recipes I saved after watching Korean food made simple on the food challenge

I had to google bulgogi as I'd never heard of it but the recipe we use is similar to this, although maybe a little simpler.

We serve it with a cucumber and spring onion pickle which is lovely too.

Hi  from sunny Dorset, I've been doing plenty of walking but food wise hasn't been great I think my sister is trying to sabotage me. I'm avoiding the scales in the bathroom that can wait until I get home :)

Have a great holiday s_glover, hopefully your OH will be recovered for it.

Izadora sorry things aren't going well at the moment, I can relate as I spent the first half of the year losing just half a stone (about 1lb a month).

I'm hot stopping from my phone to iPad so will update the log when I get back if that's ok :). Just nudge me if I miss any of you

Glad you are having nice sunny weather for your holiday Brambling, it feels baltic this end of the country. I can understand the sabotage, I'm sure my SIL used to deliberately pile food onto my plate, if she had only realised it was just a waste because I'm one of these people who gets put off by a huge pile of food on my plate and I would only start to gag if I had to force myself to eat it.

I've had some nice fresh fruit and yoghurt this morning but lunch was a bit of a disappointment; I left the avocado nestled up with the bananas too long and it was going a bit brown in the centre - I did manage to salvage about half to smash up and have on a slice of toast but that wasn't really enough and I'm now on the lookout for something else.

I have some beansprouts that need using so did a quick spin round Mr T's to pick up some filo pastry and I'll make some spring rolls for tonight.

  • Just 0.5 of a lb lost this week which I'm more than happy with after last weeks doings. Just 4 more WI's  I doubt I will reach my target but would be really happy if I lost another 4lbs.

I had a bit of a lazy weekend so I'm determined to get out for some exercise today despite the rain - its been a while since I used the waterproofs so I hope they aren't too whiffy.

Food-wise its mostly freezer fodder on the plan today
    B - fruit & yoghurt
    L - prawn & pineapple salad
D - chilli, sweet potato wedges, sweetcorn

  • :T Well done DundeeDoll thats a great loss.

Its darn cold here this morning, barely double figures and quite a shock to the system. Library visit this morning before my usual walk then back home for some warming chicken rice soup which I made yesterday.

I have half a pack of filo pastry to use up so I'll make spanakopita for tea, most of the recipes I've seen are to serve about 8-10 people, but I finely managed to find one for two people :j which is better than me doing a guestimate on ingredient quantities.
