Apologies … I saw it on the page below, but it seems that is to open a 2nd account (even though they put lots of pre-amble about Double Reward switching immediately above!)
I'm easily confused!

I was hoping you had seen the possibility to do a switch online!0 -
Thanks for the replies.
Simplest way is, as suggested, to set up the app & start a switch (probably from Santander:)) then re-install and start the wife's switch.0 -
Thanks for the info about the verification text but I am now slightly confused what exactly is it verifying!0

Not seen any one mention it yet but it appears that you can now apply for this latest switch offer ONLINE, even if you are an existing customer. I could swear this morning that there was only the option to use the app or visit the branch if you are an existing customer … but looking now I see an ONLINE option!
Just checked now and sadly, NO, you can not apply online if you are an existing customer-
'It’s easy to switch in our app – but if you don’t have it, just visit one of our branches.'
Frustrating because my nearest branch (walking distance) don't have an available appointment until Monday week. It's a small branch so has a visiting 'Lifestyle' or whatever adviser.
I would like to have started the switch asap- then it's done!
They are making more work for themselves- or justifying having real life employees??Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Can anyone please tell me if the barclays app can be installed on a tablet or ipad or must it be a mobile phone device?0

My switch completed today: from redundant Tesco Bank current account (opened 2016) to pre- existing Barclays Bank current account (opened May 2018, double Blue Rewards already received up to May 2019 under previous offer). Switch was initiated on 2 July. Hopefully double Blue Rewards will be paid in August.0

Mine which also completed today in to an existing account very similar to hattie above - had double blue rewards for previous 12-months hopefully we'll get double in August and going forward. Used the app to switch (no hranch visit)0

This isn't consistent with my experience installing it on Thursday (in terms of sending a text to the phone it's installed on).Er, no.
As I said in my post - the app sends a text to the phone it's being installed on. I did this only a couple of days ago.
And, as I said in my post, the phone I installed the app on is not the phone registered to the account.
Edit: And, just to further clarify, if further clarification is needed, I've just looked up 'Your Phone Numbers' in the App. It allows four, described as:Number linked to this app
Home
Work
Mobile
I installed the app on a smartphone (using a 200MB monthly data 3 SIM), and the registration text code was sent to my basic Nokia phone that has the mobile number registered to the account. I can't remember if it asked me for that number or not.
I've just checked the in-app phone numbers you mentioned, and that gives the same number (i.e. the non-smartphone number) for both 'number linked to this app' and 'mobile'.
At a guess, it may be that the app behaviour differs depending on if it can automatically obtain the number from the smartphone it's installed on.0
