I already have a current account with the existing double rewards if you switch offer.

    Could anyone clarify if:

    a) I have to open a second current account, activate blue rewards and switch to this new, second, current account.
    b) Initiate another switch to my existing current account (already blue rewards activated) and do not need to open a second current account.
    c) Something else.

The wording on their website seems unclear.

On the app you switch into your exisiting current account with blue rewards active.

Looks like as an existing customer there are only two options: switch via app. (can't do that- my phone is of the old brigade!) or go in branch. Can't do it online- according to the blurb.
Curses a visit to a (small) branch! Unless someone has tried online switch?

Thanks. I spoke to Barclays and they told me the same thing. No need to open a second account which is handy.

There seems to be a bit of confusion so for the avoidance of doubt this is how you do it (if you are an existing Barclays customer with a blue rewards current account skip step 1):

1 open a Barclays current account online and activate blue rewards. once your account is open you can download the app in the same way as you would for any other bank and get it set up and running

2 go to the app and switch your donor account into your Barclays current account you will then get double blue rewards for a year. it is the switching process that doubles the blue rewards

Does the APP for existing current account customers negate the need to visit a branch?

Yes it does, this post was absolutely correct :)

I assume part in brackets at the end means only new customers have to visit a branch do do a switch.

no dd required on donor account. to get rewards you need just to pay in 800 a month. 2dd on the barclays account will get you £7 a month doubled to £14 for a year

Everytime I click on products. The Barclays automatically closes down. Anyone else having the same problem?

Answer might be a or b.

I've chosen a) and believe Barclays CS in India confirmed this was ok after checking as its a 'new offer'. I have my doubts but I'm going for it new account opened and switch requested. If its all wrong I've got time to try the less rewarding b) option.

Its all quite ambiguous and Barclays could be clearer, or maybe they can't!:)
