Mine arrived today - apparently the cycle for the promotional payments are 31 days from the previous payment.

Thank you that's useful to know, just checked and it is there now.

Does anybody know if the 2 DDs per month for this account need to be different ones? Or if the the 2 can come from the same mandate?
  • I've been told by barclays because I already had an account with rewards switched on, which was upgraded to premier I won't be eligible for triple rewards despite switch an account to Barclays? I can't see anything in the Ts and Cs. Is this correct?

Being an existing Blue Rewards customer doesn't affect the switch offer so we can disregard that part.

Did you switch and then upgrade to Premier, or vice versa? Are they saying you'll only be eligible for double rewards, or no switch offer at all?

I have switched into Barclays today and I have two direct debits set to go out on Monday. I still need to pay in £800.

Please can someone confirm the most efficient timing?

Do I need to activate the Blue Rewards before he DDs and the £800 pay in to get my double rewards next month or could I do it on 31st October?

    Hello everyone and happy Friday.

Does the triple rewards start from the month I commence the switch (October) or the month I complete the switch (November)?

I have an existing Barclays Premier account, and I moved two DDs into it that are both due to pay out on the 25th (i.e. today). I also paid in £800.

Today I got excited on seeing one of the DDs had paid out, so I started the switch - it goes through on 4 November - and turned on Blue Rewards.

Trouble is, the other DD hasn't paid out. That's despite me having had confirmation from the utility company weeks ago that it had been set up. I belatedly note that I didn't receive a confirmation from Barclays like I did for the other direct debit. I wonder whether something's gone wrong.

If the twelve-month multiplier doesn't start until November I'll suck up missing out on £3.50 for one month. It only leaves me 50p down overall. But if it means missing out on £10.50 that's a bit more painful!

If it hasn't paid out by Monday and if it is a problem, can I just go back in and quickly turn off Blue Rewards and turn it back on in a week's time?

What is the offer does we get if we are existing customer and switch other bank current account to Barclays?

Switch into a qualifying ac and initiate Blue Rewards (BR) gets you double the usual BR.

BR pays reward for Direct Debits (DDs), Household Insurance and/or mortgage with Barclays.

Most on here are exploiting the DDs at £3.50 reward per DD per month(pm), it's limited to maximum of 2 DD rewards = £7.00 Doubled for the switch = £14 pm.

Note, though, there is a £4pm fee.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I hadn't realised my previous double BR had expired; and I hadn't realised this was open to people who had already had the incentive.

So I've downloaded the app and initiated a switch of one of my rate reduced BoS Vantage acs that I kept open for just such an opportunity :thumb:

Hopefully as I also kept the £800 pay in & 2 DDs going in the existing Barclays ac, I'll reap the 2xBR in Nov onwards :)

On an aside: Does having these apps drain the battery quicker in my mob, which appears to need charging more often now?
  • Do they also double up £5 a month towards mortgage in the first year? Note that I have a mortgage with Barclays.

I would have to double check (or you could look yourself of the Barclays website ;) ) but yes, in the past it always worked that ALL Blue Rewards bonuses were doubled. Double Mortgage reward (£5 to £10), double Home Insurance reward (£1-£3 to £2-£6), Double Loan reward (£1 to £2), double enhanced cashback on activated online purchases (additional 1% becomes additional 2%).
