Evening All
Went into work an hour later as quick meeting at the school this morning as dd just starting year 11 and all the kerfuffle that goes along with that.
B overnight muesli (hexb)with yoghurt and grated carrot, and mango cubes, delicious, I've had this many times but without the carrot, and fire some reason it is so much more filling with the carrot.
L lo crack chicken (3 )with what I thought was pasta but turned out to be couscous and chick peas ( quick grab from the freezer!) peas and an apple
D jacket potato, cottage cheese, 1 hard boiled egg and broccoli.
Snacks will be hm ice lolly (f)
Not sure where to fit my hexa in today?
Thanks for the recommendation matron midge definitely going to try that chicken.
I also don't have a soup maker, I do use my sc (more in the winter) but since I got my instant pot I use that for most things now, such as soup, rice etc.'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

may i ask maman to point me in the direction of the braised red cabbage recipe i seem to remember she makes ?
many thanks for your helponwards and upwards0 -
Pollyanna yes you can freeze canned tuna. Just put it into a freezer bag (I prefer the ziplock ones), making sure you get as much of the air out as you can. Can freeze for up to 3 months but probably better to use it up fairly quickly, say one month.
If you look back to the beginning of the thread there are loads of recipes including some soup ones.
Do you like leeks and leek & potato soup is really nice and very cheap to make when leeks are in season.
tessie There is a braised red cabbage recipe on the SW website which is what I use. Think Maman bases her's on a Delia recipe.

I had a gadget 'cull' when I decorated the kitchen and got rid of anything gathering dust. I kept my stick blender (for soups mainly) food processor which gets quite a lot of use and slow cooker. George Foreman had to be kept for DD2 who loves a toastie but as she's not around till November I might sneak that out. Breadmaker is under threat as I find it quicker to do by hand.0

Thank you everyone for the welcome! Today was NOT on plan and I know exactly why - when I'm stressed it is far too easy to just ignore my planned meals! I WILL do better. Tomorrow is another day.0

Sorry tessie I don't know how to do links on my phone but I adapt the Delia traditional braised red cabbage with apple recipe. If you Google it comes up straight away.
I substitute the sugar for sweetener and often use eating apples. Otherwise it's the same ingredients. I rarely add the knobs of butter but if you do it'll be a bit more glossy. I know technically I should syn cooked apple and sweetener but as we only eat a small portion each time I don't bother.0 -

Hi, would it be possible to join? I have been dieting by calorie counting since March and have lost 18lb so I am really pleased, but I don't feel particularly well, I am tired and feel 'spaced out'. I haven't been eating a healthy diet, just eating things like beans on toast, cereal and tomatoes on toast, the odd baked potato but that's about it really. I am now 3lb off the target I originally set myself but now I am almost there I would like to be perhaps half a stone lighter so I would like to lose 9lb in all. I can't continue to do this the way I have been and thought that Slimming World would be a good option for me. I did it about 8 years ago and lost 2 stone then but once I had reached target I just ate what I wanted again and put all the weight back on. This time I want to eat healthy but also stay at a lower weight. I can't really afford to go to slimming world classes at least for a while so am hoping I can join here and get advice and sort me out once and for all. We are going on holiday next week for a week and when we come back maybe I can look to buy the books off ebay so I have a better idea but would it be ok to ask for help and guidance here?? Hoping this is ok, thanksWeight loss 6lb/16lb 10lb to goI spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough0
