Scrap the above. Can't find any meets on a Saturday or near where I work that I would be able to go to. Might just have to wait till 27 September to go.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
Mortgages (End 2017) - £180,235.03
(End 2021) - £131,215.25 DID IT!!!
(End 2022) - Target £116,213.810 -
Pollyanna - The sausages are 1 syn for 2; the Dolmio 500g sauce is 11 syns so just over 1.5 syns if you got 7 portions from it.
Semi skimmed you can have 250ml as HEA or 6 syns. 1% milk is not the same as semi skimmed it's nearer skimmed milk.
I'm surprised you can't find a meeting near where you work in London there are loads of groups, a lot of them at lunchtimes or with a 5.30pm start. Which part of London are you working in?
Are you planning on going to a group regularly or just as a one off? If it's just as a one off then I'd go to your local group on Friday morning while the kids are at school and have the new member talk and get the books. It will make things much easier for you to follow the plan.
Back later with my menu plan.

Back again with my plan for today:
B - stuffed mushrooms - mushrooms (S), cottage cheese (P), mixed herbs, garlic puree (F), sweetcorn kernels (need using up!), topped with a little parmesan (part HEA) & breadcrumbs (0.5)
L - corned beef salad - corned beef (1.5 Syns per 100g), lettuce, cucumber, tomato, spring onions (S), pickled onions & beetroot + HM syn free onion chutney (S); Tbs low fat dressing (1); WM roll (HEB)
D - Poulet au Vinaigre (a PON recipe from book) - chicken (P); onion (S), garlic (S),tomatoes (S), tomato puree (S), mustard powder (F), stock made with cube (F), white wine stock pot (F), white wine vinegar (F), low fat cheese (1.5). Will serve with mash made with egg (F), green veg (S)
Will let you know tomorrow if it was any good!
HEA - milk/parmesan
HEB - WM roll
Syns - breadcrumbs 0.5; corned beef 1.5; LF dressing 1, low fat cheese 1.5
As you can see I'm trying to use some syns as definitely got too many syns left - 44 left for today and tomorrow and that's without the extra 20 we're allowed as target members!!!

Morning all.
Today's Menu
HEA - milk, HEB - cereal
B All bran crunch , blackberries (S) 0% greek yoghurt (unclear!) honey (1)
L Omelette (P) with Mushrooms peppers and tomatoes (S)
D sausage casserole (sausages 1 syn each, passata (F) mushrooms, peppers, carrots, (S) herbs and spices) new potatoes (F) green veg (S)
OH still off his food so I can have all my favourites!! Every cloud...0 -
Wow! 4.5 syns Denise. You know how to live!:rotfl:
It may seem crazy to people getting to target but I do understand how hard it is to change habits to eating synful food. It'll be interesting to see if not using syns makes any difference to you. Unless you have a grand plan for the other 44. You could have 18 rums and get legless!:D
I like the Arla BoB milk Pollyanna. It's best of both in that it's low fat but really has the taste of semi skimmed. They sell it my little local Coop which is convenient but I know Sainsbury's do it too, probably other places. You're allowed 300mls for a HEA.
I've been very occasionally to a Saturday group but I don't really like them as I prefer to have a slow start to a Saturday and don't like rushing off but I can see the advantage on having a full syn bank on a Saturday. To answer your question, you can turn up at any group and join or when you're a member you can drop into any group and weigh/stay for class. The only problem is that if you don't weigh on the same day every week then you'd have to adjust syns accordingly. This week I've only got 6 days worth:(. It is possible to stretch out WI to IIRC 12 days as a one off but you couldn't do that regularly.
I think you're right to encourage your children in healthy eating. If you treat this as a diet and go back to old ways after you've lost the 2 stone then that'll not only tell them that mum's given up on healthy eating but you'll put the weight back on.
I'm glad you're enjoying your favourite meals esmy. Well done you for taking the trouble to cook for yourself. You're so worth it.Do you normally eat veggie?
DH is out for a meal tomorrow evening so I'll be home alone.I might treat myself to my favourite egg and chips.
I've got 4.5 syns left until Thursday morning but have no plans to use them. Even going so close to the wire may not work as some of my syns are estimates so I may even have gone over a little. But I'll keep plodding.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (free), fried egg (P) baked beans (free), HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: cold meat (P), 1 potato (free), LO fried veg, pickled cabbage and pickled onions (S)baked salmon (P) SW chips (free) cauli, broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes (S)
Syns: None!0 -
Esmy - I think we've decided that Greek Yoghurt is Protein but not Greek style yoghurt - why the difference I've no idea!
Also pasatta is Speed (unless it has oil in it!).
Maman - change of plan for lunch so not using the corned beef after all, LOL so not even 4.5 Syns today just 3! Think I might treat myself to some dark chocolate this evening to use up a few syns.
I certainly won't be getting legless tomorrow night as I've got to drive to group Thursday morning!!! Definitely can't do that with a hangover!
Today's lunch is now going to be: chicken legs (skin removed); smoked salmon & fish sticks instead of the corned beef. DH will probably have corned beef as well, LOL!
There will be enough chicken left to take to hospital tomorrow, along with a smoked salmon sandwich. I've also got a hard boiled egg left in the fridge so will take that as well. Also bought a couple of the snack packs of grapes from Aldi to take with me.
Enjoy your egg and chips tonight Maman! Haven't had that for ages!

Often I do - I'd say maybe half and half. I use veggie mince for anything requiring mince, curries and soups are usually veggie. If I'm cooking meat for myself I can usually find a veggie alternative for OH.Esmy - I think we've decided that Greek Yoghurt is Protein but not Greek style yoghurt - why the difference I've no idea!

Thank you Denise for resolving the yoghurt debate! I use 0% fat Greek yoghurt, not greek style, so that's P. Hope you go on OK at hospital tomorrow.0 -
I think I am getting the hang of this. Few blips there will be me thinks.
I have been counting my milk in tea and coffee as HEA. I have been having (approx.) 75ml per cup and have 4 in a day as I thought 300ml semi skimmed was allowed. Not sure if I could change how I was counting as part of me thinks it is overcomplicating things. And I don't think I will change the milk I use as we all use green top as a family and I don't really want to be buying separate.
Still not sure what to do re group. If I join on Friday, how much would it cost? And how will I not be charged for missed weeks? I guess if I just don't turn up again, they can't charge me?
My plan for today:-
B - Coffee (HEA), watermelon (S), banana (F)
L - Crustless quiche (HEA), salad (S), cucumber (S), sweetcorn (F), WW Lemon Tart Yogurt (0.5), Hula Hoop Pufts (3.5).
D - 4 x Spring Chicken Heck sausages (2.0), jacket pot (F), beans (F)
S - Tea x 3 (HEA), Alpen Bar x 2 (HEB)
And I am making broccoli and blue cheese soup. Getting differing amounts for what amounts to a HEA on the cheese, but taking it as 6 for HEA. Have used 6, but will probably make the soup into three portions, so each portion is a 1/3 of HEA which complicates things in my little head, but I will figure it out. The soup is for lunches, but in future, think I will just make a veg soup which won't be any HEAs or syns.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Pollyanna you can syn your soup at 2 syns each if you're using 6 syns to make 3 portions (6/3=2). It's 5 of the blue triangles for HEA or they are 1.5 each if you want to use more than the 5.
You're still a bit light on speed today. Could you perhaps have mash (mashed with an egg so no syns) with some frozen veg to up the Speed a bit. Speed is the bit that helps fill us up for very few calories so the more you have the better.
Mixed veg soup is a good idea as you will get plenty of Speed that way. I use a bag of frozen mixed veg, an onion and a potato plus stock made with a cube. Cook the onion until softened, chuck in the mixed veg and chopped potato along with the stock and cook until the potato is cooked. Leave to cool slightly and then blend. I usually use a liquidiser but you can use a stick blender if that's what you have, or even just use a masher if you like a thicker soup. You can add some extra water if it's a bit too thick.
If you just want to go to group for the member talk and get the books it will cost you just under £15 - £9.95 to join + £4.95 per week.
How often will you need to miss group? If you can only go alternate weeks you can say you're a shift worker, if it's less regularly than that you will have to pay for missed weeks when you return.

Just ran off to check my yogurt and it's authentic Greek
🇬🇷 I'm not fussed as I rarely have SP days and don't eat much yogurt but it's good to know.
You could just go to a group once and get the books and the introductory talk pollyanna and then you need never go back. Some people buy the books from eBay and do it that way. Or you can just stick with the thread and see how you get on. You're really getting the hang of it now. :T
I agree with you about the milk. What I do is stick with the old way of just 1 HEA a day and then if I go over with cereal or porage I know I've got the 2nd HEA as leeway. Same with Parmesan. I only have it once a week so I think it works out OK.
If you have baby sweetcorn that counts as Speed. I often buy it for stir fry and then chop some up to go in omelettes.0
