About the soup maker are they really worth it....not cost wise but use wise, for me I love to make soup/stews but the effort is in the prep/peeling veg etc....just wondered if they stay on long - my last gadget for kitchen the bread maker took over 2.45 hours to make loaf, plus the smell aided in the eating of most of it:rotfl:
As for Aldi...it is about the only place I know who gives 3 year warranties on electrics - so no worries there.
Pollyana...you are going great....just to mention the chicken sausage - I use half pack of the chicken Italian ones, crumble veg oxo and few sprinkle herbs and 2% turkey mince mixed together for making meatballs, it makes about 8 big uns....hubby loves them. 2 1/2 syns for 5 sausage (half pack) none for mince.
As Maman says look on e bay as a few Slimming World used starter packs are on there.0 -

I'm with Vegastare with soup makers. It's the prep that takes the time not the actual making of the soup! That's why I often use frozen veg - it's cheap, convenient and available in the freezer and can use it anytime not just when it's cheap.
I still buy fresh if they are in season and a good price but most things like mixed veg I find easier to just use frozen.

Evening all
Tea and a crustless quiche for lunches
One thing i never buy frozen veg only peas , mainly cause i don't have room in the freezer
Well done to any loosers:T:T
Denise i think the difference with greek yog and greek style is, greek style has something mixed with it as its runny where as greek in thick, that's just a guess:rotfl::rotfl:Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0 -
I don't own any gadgets except a SC if that counts. I tend to make soup and other things for batch cooking in the SC as I like to fill it up and make many portions at once and then freeze them for HM ready meals. The glory of the SC is that I don't need to watch over it. I'm always afraid that if I bought gadgets they'd just fill up my kitchen cupboards and not get used much .:)0

I do a combination of both Maman & Bubbs! Helps having a chest freezer in a cupboard outside the back door.
I said I'd report back about the Poulet au Vinegre recipe from the PON book. Have to say both DH and I really enjoyed it. Makes a really creamy sauce for just 1.5 syns per portion. May well make double next time and freeze half for another day.
There are several recipes in there that I'm planning on making at some time. Tomorrow night's dinner will be the Doner kebab in mini Pitta bread with loads of salad. Will make a yoghurt & mint dressing to go with it.

pollyanna~~ the soup maker is a doddle.
Sadly mine broke & i cannot afford a new one
Am playing catchup with the thread. Just wanted to say I bought one 2nd hand for £10 on a local fb selling group, person was emigrating. Have only made tomato & basil soup so far, but hope to get lots of use out of it. Didn’t come with the book but have looked up how to use online. Links to your favourite soup recipes would be welcomed.

Ooh, thanks Joedenise, I may just syn it for the days I'm having it. Or I may just eat the extra laughing cows to make it up to a HEA
I'm getting there with the veg. I'm know that I don't eat enough, but I'll get there gradually. Didn't want to go all out and buy heaps of veg and then it just go off. Oops.
I have a super duper soup maker courtesy of my mum. We share it. I didn't realise it was at her house and so had to go and get it today. Have my three portions of broccoli and blue cheese, so will leave off making more till next week. I was just thinking potato, carrot, broccoli as I like them veggies.
My mum gave me a voucher from the paper which is half price joining, so £9.95 for the first week and then £4.95 after that. I might go on Friday and then explain I am working the following two Fridays and see what the leader says. I usually have Friday off, but just helping the girl who usually does Fridays a favour as she helps me out sometimes and we swap days.
I do have all the books somewhere as found them in a charity shop. Might go and have a search through drawers in a bit.
Vegastare. Those meatballs sound really nice. I've only gotten into Heck as I found them reduced in Asda and so bought up the whole lot and frozen them in sections of 4 sausages each!
My question for today:-
Can I freeze tinned tuna? I only used half of the tin yesterday, but have my meals planned until Friday so can't see myself using it (I mean I'm sure the cat will help me, but I'd rather save it for myself if I can!).Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
