    Morning all,

I hope it's less windy where you are, but it's still thrashing around out there where I am.

I think it was Denise who asked about the Aldi skinny sausages, I have had them recently, and think they're not too bad actually. Compared to the Sainsbobs TTD Skinny, which have teflon strength casings for some bizarre reason, I think they match up favourably. I've bought some M&S skinny sausages to have tomorrow, and they have 2 types now, cumberland chipolatas and traditional pork ones. Will be interesting to see if the cumberland ones are as tasty as I hope they are :) I also cannot see why the M&S ones can't be free food either, as they are 117 calories p/100g compared to the SW free sausages at 154cal p/100g. Fat is less in the M&S, and can only see that they differ in carb & protein levels. Anyway, I count them as 1/2 syn each to be on the safe side. Food for thought though

Well Friday night we ate out with DS1 & DIL. It was typical pub grub on offer, and plenty I would like to have chosen, but in the end I decided I'd have a free food main course, and allow myself syns for the day for a dessert, which I couldn't eat more than half anyway.

    Friday's plan:
    B - bagel HEB spread (2)
    snack - banana & 0% kvarg
    L - chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, dressing (1)
    D - roast chicken, potatoes, peas & gravy (2)
dessert - apple pie & custard - I ate the pointy end with most of the apple and didn't really like the custard. OH ate the rest.... after he'd eaten his caramel cheesecake!
    HEA - milk in tea/coffee

    Yesterday's plan:
    B - banana & 0% skyr
    L - bacon sandwich - HEB + 5.5
D - chicken with mixed salad leaves, cucumber, tomatoes. dressing (1); strawberries with apple skyr (1.5)
    HEA - milk in tea/coffee
Spent all afternoon into the early evening de-clinkering DS4's room, as he's away at a festival, camping!! He tells me the tent is still on the ground - for now! Lots of furniture moving, curtain changing, full-on cleaning for several hours. Certainly aching as a result today, so that's extra body magic for me hopefully.

Lastly, pleased to report a -2lb loss this week. That's the small gain, plus and extra 1/2lb off for luck! Very happy with that, as that's a big loss by my standards. Lucky to get a 0.5-1lb if I'm lucky most weeks. Really wanting to get focussed on getting down to the next stone barrier, which is 11lb away now. If I can be there by Christmas that will be my 3st loss (I'd set myself an initial target to lose up to 2st this year, but it's gone better than planned). OH said today he can really notice the difference in me, and I have to say I feel much better. My knees don't hurt all the time, I can climb up the stairs without it being a huge effort, and my plantar faciitis isn't as bad. Definitely helps to keep me on the straight and narrow when I think about all the benefits. I'm also chucking out/re-homing larger clothes as I go along, so I cannot even consider growing back into them again.

Beanie, I hope you're feeling ok today. I admire you so much how you literally and metaphorically pick yourself up and keep going. It must be very hard to do so sometimes.

Today's meal plan (just remembered to add it!):
    B - bagel HEB (5.5) spread (2)
L - chicken, cucumbere & (gifted by a colleague) tomatoes
D - chicken stir fry, with M&S water chestnut & bean sprouts veg mix, noodles. Allowing (2) for sauce I may add, might just stick with soy sauce for now, but hedging my bets
Snacks - will probably have some melon & strawberries
    HEA - milk in tea/coffee

Have a good Sunday. Will try to pop back in later to keep up with all the chit-chat.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

you could have 20 Almonds as HEB for your snack as you haven't got one anywhere else in your plan.

I almost always use my HEXs on bread and milk every day. The new second HEA I only use occasionally, mainly for Parmesan on pasta. I remember once we had an Area Manager from SW doing monitoring at our group and she told us that it's not essential to have HEXs if we don't want them. Basically they're healthy but they are an extra. It's perfectly possible to have fibre and calcium in other ways.:)

Bubbs has listed the Fibre One bars, I'm another that hasn't tried them but lots of people at group seem to like them. I just stick to Alpen Lights or Hifis if I want a cereal bar.

I've never bought a HiFi bar but I do buy either Aldi Benefit bars or Alpen Lights when I see them on offer. My DH loves them and I think they're probably better for him than other biscuits. I rarely eat them myself though. On the rare occasions I fancy something sweet I'd rather have some 70% chocolate.

No need to limit the number of roast potatoes as long as they are cooked with Frylight. If they are being cooked in oil remember it is 6 Syns per Tbs so very high and to my mind a waste of Syns!

No problem with roast potatoes or roast parsnips. I always have loads on a Sunday (balanced off with Speed veg of course :A). We eat almost all of them so that when I have my LO veg fried in the week there aren't any left so my lunches are SP. :)

We sit at the table everynight are we odd?:rotfl::rotfl:or do others as well?

No, that doesn't sound odd to me at all. We eat at the table every night of the week too. It's one of the few times, other than if we're going out together, that I get to talk to my DH. :D It's meant to be better for digestion too.

I had a few G&Ts last night to help keep the syns down. I want to have plenty left for our anniversary meal on Tuesday. We're out again on Thursday but by then I'll have more syns in the bank. I'm not going to WI this week (booked a holiday) so if I can STS over the fortnight I'll be happy.

Not sure what's happening today. DH woke up feeling unwell (dizzy and nauseous), no idea why. He's a bit better now but may not feel like a big meal later. I'll play it by ear but may need to alter the plan for dinner.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, banana, yogurt, HEA milk for drinks
    L: LO casserole
D: roast beef with SW roast potatoes and various Speed veg
    Syns: gravy 4? weekend wine:D

I did some research on some of the wines in Sainsbury's yesterday. It seems that my current summer favourite (chilled NZ Sauvignon Blanc) brand is unusual in being over 13% alcohol. There are heaps to choose from that are 12.5% so fall into the lower syn category so I'll bear that in mind when I buy more. That's 3.5 syns fewer in a bottle. Red wine has different thresholds and even more synful.:(

    Afternoon all

    Wet wet here again...

Denise the meatballs were really nice, actually had 2 (LM saus ) left so mixed with 2% turkey mince and 5 Heck Chicken sausage (which syned) plus some mixed herbs and veg oxo, they were really lovely lots of flavour and not too dry as turkey mince would be. Think the rosemary and onion flavour really helped. Had with spag and home made tom sauce. Think will use the LM sausages again to add flavour to meatloaf/balls or scotch eggs as they are really a nice mix....but honest if you grill them there is a real greasy taste and look. Hubby really liked them too

Bubbs I have just 1 1/2 lb to target so almost there. Fingers crossed for this week.

Can I ask a question about target, is it five pound either way or three!! Last week I was speaking to the lady who checks the consultants are doing things right(she was watching group and weighing) and she told me then I was close with just 2 lb, I never said anything but was told different week before!!
So if I want to get to actual target do I have 5 lb to loose after this nagging 2 lb.

It's 3lbs vegastare. . At the moment you'll be pleased to hear that. When you're at target you'll soon be wishing you had 5 lbs leeway.:D
