  • Oh I love marrow- they do have a habit of outstaying their welcome though :rotfl:

Quickly posting my menu before work:

B- scrambled eggs with spinach and either salmon/bacon/ham. Fruit.
L- LO lentil dal and fruit.
D- pulled pork rolls (HEXB) with salad, chips, pickles.
Syns- will allow 6 for the chips because DH can’t help adding oil, and I’ll probably have a couple of light beer 3.5 each.
HEA on drinks...struggling to use 2 of these every day but hoping that doesn’t matter too much!

Have a lovely Saturday everyone x

Maman - I bet you're glad that marrow has finally gone! You seem to have had it every day, LOL!

Trixie which rolls do you use for your pulled pork? Most of the wholemeal ones are too big to be HEB!

I know what you mean about DH using oil mine's used to be the same if I don't leave the Frylight by the cooker! I keep moving the oil around in my larder cupboard so he never knows where it is and can't be bothered to look for it anymore, LOL! But have been doing SW for 9 years now!

Ended up have some G&Ts last night so all Syns used yesterday!

  • Denise I know it’s so annoying! I’d forgotten to account for that so thanks. I’d need to add another 3.5 Syns for my roll. Might skip it all together or just adjust my Syns. Is oil still a HEB? Could just have pork and salad with chips and count DH’s extra oil as a HEB! Love your trick of hiding the oil! Haha, I’m going to have to try that one.

Just had a lovely breakfast- scrambled eggs with bacon bits and plums. At work so no fry light, just splashed some hot water in the pan and it worked really well. Bacon was cooked in the oven with all fat remover. I’ve had enough days on plan now that I’m feeling the benefits- energy and a full tummy! Absolutely no cravings. Need to remind myself of this feeling when temptation comes knocking.

Trixie Unfortunately olive oil is no longer HEB! It's a shame because I often used to use it as my 2nd HEB on Green days, usually in a salad dressing. I now generally just use a thick balsamic vinegar which I buy when I'm holiday in France. I'm sure the shop assistants think I'm made with the amount of vinegars I buy to bring home. Think I've got about 8 or 9 different ones. After the balsamic my favourite is a nut vinegar.

Glad sticking to plan is keeping you full and you're not getting any cravings. If you want the roll then have it and just count the extra Syns. The average standard WM roll is 8 syns and a large 11 syns. It's an extra syn if the rolls are white but can't be used as HEB unless it's one of the GF ones as some of those are HEB.

    Denise

Not quite every day.;) We had it two Fridays running and then a few chunks here and there that I experimented with roasting alongside tomatoes.

Are you doing 15 a day with your syns or still saving?

It seems sausages and beans are popular this week. We really enjoyed ours the other night and I've had loads of strawberries and raspberries to supplement the Speed. :)

I bought Aldi skinny sausages yesterday to try. As you'd expect, a lot cheaper than the Waitrose ones I've just finished but still half a syn each. Anyone tried them?

I saw a programme the other night that showed someone with SW oven chips in her freezer. I'm assuming from Iceland. Might they be worth trying for 'emergencies' such as when DHs are in the kitchen?:D

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, baked beans, fried egg
L: JP with cottage cheese, ham and pickles
D: chicken casserole (onion, carrots, mushrooms, leeks, courgettes) with new potatoes, butter beans and broccoli
Syns: cornflour 1 and something alcoholic.;)

I've not decided yet whether to go for gin or wine. I'm going to investigate wines under 13% to save syns.:D

    Maman.
The frozen sw chips were dreadful.
Just a bag of misshapen scraps which didn't cook very well at all in the oven and definitely didn't taste very nice.

My sister bought 2 bags, threw part of a bag away and gave me the 2nd bag to try.

    Sts for me.
Was to be expected as I was tempted with birthday cake one day plus a few drinks.....
    Will try better this week.
