The low fat diet is a complete fraud.
Dr Zoe Harcombe exposes the myth:

Not feeding the troll but I eat butter, cheese, chocolate and use oils all in moderation and have been at target(ish) for over 10 years. Slimming world is not low fat as such just a balanced diet!
As for melons, love them but now on my avoid list as upset my tum
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Hi everyone
Just to say that I found this thread this morning and have pretty much spent the day reading it :rotfl: so many fab ideas and recipes, thank you!
I started SW in 2016 and lost 2.5 stone but sadly it’s a different story now
I put back all the weight and more after losing my dad in 2018. Finally ready to regain control and get back to where I was. I’ve lost 11 pounds since May but starting to get a bit stuck...you know how it goes! I’ve set myself a mini target where I need to lose another 13- then I’ll think carefully about my proper target (I was a bit too small last time and couldn’t maintain.)
I’ve never been to a group- just bought the magazine, talked to my friend who goes, weigh in at home etc.
Anyway, hope you don’t mind me following along and stealing all your fab ideas :rotfl:April 2016 Mortgage- £160,000.00
October 2017 Mortgage- £138,322.06
October 2018 Mortgage- £131,898.31 :j
October 2020 Mortgage- £103,084.00
July 2022 Mortgage- £820000 -
Welcome Trixysticks. The thread is a support thread for anyone following the Slimming World plan.
If you'd like to post your menus we can look them over and make suggestions if anything doesn't look quite right.
If you have any questions feel free to post, there is usually someone around who will be able to answer. I assume you know from the magazine and your friend that you are now allowed 2 HEA and 1 HEB a day plus up to 15 Syns a day, SW now recommend you stick to around 10.

Thanks Denise and Beanie
I didn’t know about the 10 Syns advice- thanks for that!
Today has been:
B- strawberries with 0% yogurt
L- ham, egg and avocado on toast (HEB plus 4.5- I think for avo?)
D- lamb stew with carrots, onions, gravy, potatoes and peas (5)
Hea- milk (I haven’t got my head around having 2 of these yet), snacks- banana and grapes.
I drink 3-4 litres water a day and get a fair bit of exercise, did a run today. I can see I’ve not been great on speed today though, I hate speed :rotfl: I’ll factor this in tomorrow.April 2016 Mortgage- £160,000.00

Glad you got home earlier today Denise.....you have had some really long days recently.
Welcome to Trixysticks....must admit I have also benefited so much from this thread, I do go to group but sometimes it goes on a bit...at times.
Well as some of you know my heart hasn't been in it this week, did go today and lost just 1/2 lb which is still a loss....need 2lb then back in target range....so will push for that. Will stay and see how it goes, but have looked around at where other SW held in my area.
Went in Iceland today and saw those Broghies, just like a rice cake, but larger and dip in middle to hold filling ... so will try them out, saw quite a few filling on that site...so forgot the names John and Ronnie!!!
Hope everyone those well this week
Take care.0 -
It's a loss vegastare :TWelcome trixisticks to our lovely thread
Yes, and do post. We're a friendly lot.
You've made a start with Speed with your onions, carrots and strawberries. Just eat plenty of the ones you like. My first consultant didn't eat veg at all, just strawberries.
Many of us only have the second HEA occasionally but I find it a good safety net as I don't measure milk properly.
It's good not to have to syn Parmesan with Bolognese too.
It might be a good idea to try to go closer to the 10 syns to get over your plateau.

Could have been , lets hops so:D and good luck for tomorrowYours might have been water retention from the hot weather bubbs or because your routine has changed a bit since you've been off work. I've yet to come up with a plausible excuse for myself.:o
Plumber's gone home for the day. All the most dusty work is done. Now I can get cracking on the dinner.
