No lay in for me this morning! Just packing up and coming back from our couple of days away.
If you are out and about I'd try and get to somewhere like Wetherspoons. At least you can get a steak or plain grilled chicken, jacket potato & salad without dressing (could always take your own FF dressing!). If not you'll just have to do the best you can, like I had to yesterday!
Line has been drawn and I am back on plan and needing to rein in the Syns. I need to work out how many syns I've got left as had quite a few over the weekend - might even have to make use of the extra syns we're allowed as target members!!!
Today's plan:
B - bacon, egg, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes
L - corned beef salad - corned beef 3.5; mixed leaves, pickled beetroot, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onion, HM aubergine dip (1 syn). Peach
D - roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted peppers & onions, mixed veg & green beans. Splash of gravy
HEA - milk - about 100ml; cheese?
HEB - none planned but may have some crackers & cheese later
Syns - corned beef 3.5; aubergine dip 1

No it wasn't my usual place but I thought all SW scales were meant to be accurate although I'd love to think that you're right.:D
Our local Wetherspoons are real dumps denise, they desperately need some money spending on them but I'll bear it in mind if we go further afield.
I've pot roasted the chicken today for a change. I saw it done on a TV programme so thought I'd give it a try. Will report back on how it went.0 -
Sorry, didn't know your Wetherspoons was a dump. We found some good ones on our travels and our local one is fairly new, only about 3 or 4 years old and not bad for the food.
Another option could be to take a picnic. Don't think the forecast is too bad tomorrow. Could take some of your pot roasted chicken with some salad plus some fruit.

Yes, I'd been thinking about a picnic. Of course you weren't to know about our scruffy Wetherspoons.Like you, I've been to some really nice ones. Harrogate is particularly good and we've chosen to have breakfast in one in Brighton instead of our 4 star hotel. Maybe one day they'll revamp ours. 2 are in really nice buildings but the carpets are horrible, tables sticky... you get the picture.
I think DH is just getting stressed about all the upheaval but it'll pass. It's just that I could have done with a calm week to deal with this stupid gain.
I've carved the chicken and it's very tender. Not sure how the gravy will work out, the stock seems a bit stew like. But we'll see.0 -
Evening gang, I hope you've all had a good weekend.
Hope you're feeling better today Percy. but good news about the assessment - that must be a big relief.
Beanie, I hope you've had a better day. Family stuff! urgh! It's never ending is it?
Well our weekend away was somewhat marred by OH crashing his motorbike on Friday morning, so we then ended up in our local A&E (can only praise them highly - thankfully!). Nothing broken, he's lost a chunk of flesh from his arm which is now bandaged up, badly bruised and grazing to his hip, ankle and thigh.Didn't end up leaving home to go to our hotel until 7:30pm, got there about 10:30pm, and I had to drive as he was too shaken & doped up on painkillers. Anyway, it was probably just as well that we were away because he had some enforced rest. He is very sore still, but improved today from Fri/Sat. Goodness me what a shock though, and he seems more upset at the cost to fix his blasted bike!:mad:
So, forgive me chums, for I have synned with reactionary comfort eating. I know exactly what was going on, but the line will now be drawn. Had it intermingled with some SW friendly stuff too, but it was just a couple of days, and going shopping tomorrow for fruit/veg & good stuff. Like everyone else, there's other family stuff going on that is causing issues, and it's so tough to stay on plan 100% I find when things are stressy. This is something I'm going to have to really keep working at to ensure I cope in the future too.
For those that have managed it, if you've been a comfort/stress eater in the past and got to target, how do you get around that? One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -

Maman the stock from a pot roast is stew like. You can use it as a gravy by using some cornflour and a bit of gravy browning.
I like pot roasted meats but haven't done it for a long time. I used to quite often pot roast brisket when the kids were little. Mainly because the meat was very cheap and also easy for them to eat because it used to fall to pieces because it was so tender.

sary~~that is scary. Glad your OH is ok~~sounds like he was lucky.
Sometimes I manage the comfort eating better than others. It is a mystery to me.
