Well that was a windy old run this morning, chilly too, after such warm weather.  Got out early, so lovely and quiet.   Did 6miles in 59mins... speedy (well for me anyway)

On the financial side, I've just seen that a referral from TopCashBack has now cleared....woo £20.

I hope you stayed 'local' when exercising. 6 miles is quite far.

Assuming a circuit it may have only been 1 mile from home and could not have possibly been more than 3 miles from home. Hardly a major issue here is there?

At the current time I have 3 "reconned" routes.  All are around the 6 mile point.

One round the village/estate, winding on a sort of circular route (today's), so actually never more than 1.5 miles from home.

Then round a nearby industrial estate (dead quiet!!)

And thirdly, an out and back on country lanes.

TBH, I don't personally believe that distance = risk.  For example on my out and back run, if I make my turn around point further, what difference does that make to anyone on a deserted lane?

I run usually from 8 to 8.30am, for about 60-70mins, so I see the odd dog walker, other runner who are easily avoided, especially with the roads so quiet.

The busiest bit is the first 1/2 mile from my house!

My cycle route takes me about 4.5 miles away from home at the furthest point. Means that I can get out into the open countryside for a while. See absolutely no one.

Did my gel nails again today, cutting them as short as possible first!   Sparkly pale pink.

Nothing else doing today...I've got a jigsaw puzzle on the go, so might go and do more of that.

I spent some of this morning sorting out some of my financial details (logins etc.) to make an information sheet for my partner (just in case!)  Also, following the MSE links concerning making a will, which I hope I won't need for another 20 years at least :) The Co-Op looks quite a good offering!
Currently reading a book called "Collapse" by Jarrod DIamond, and listening to a podcast: Matt Berry's interview with Jean Michel Jarre from 2018, and I have the latest "13 Minutes to the Moon" podcast about Apollo 13 on my list. If any of you are interested BBC's "13 Minutes to the Moon" series of podcasts is rather excellent!

DH and I were discussing something like an info sheet at the weekend - he has no idea about most of the finance stuff despite me making him sit down and listen about it a couple of times a year. More importantly if we were both to get sick, and that has to be more likely than just one of us, then DD is an 18 year in a high maintenance house which she has no idea how to run. I have a lot of stuff automated between accounts and such but I am going to get all those loops closed so that it will just chug along without us. She has money to keep herself fed etc should we have to go into hospital. Next I will make a page on contacts for energy supplier, ocado login, home insurance, homecall, pet stuff (vet, insurance) etc.

We've both got a good grip on the finances, but if we were both taken seriously ill, then I'd leave the wills and a spreadsheet on the desk before we got carted off!!

Some bills might bounce unless I had time to transfer savings over to CAs, but if things were that bad, we'd be past caring!!

One of my favourite escapes is Great Gig in the Sky ( Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon).
Vinyl for me when listening to music. You cannot beat the warmth, richness and depth of the sound. Listening to complete albums is a lost art.
Don't you have to have mega expensive equipment to appreciate vinyl though?

Officinados of vinyl...have you had a professional hearing test?  Seems daft to spend £££ otherwise as you might not be "appreciating" it as much as you think!!  ;)

It's a bit like buying an ultra HD TV, without being checked if you need (new) glasses!!
I always said I couldn't tell the difference but OH treated himself to new hifi when we bought this house 15 years ago (he had a timely shares windfall). He dragged me to a shop with a test room where they swapped various components in and out - turntable, amp, CD player, speakers. Sadly I actually could tell the difference - it was an expensive day.
He has a couple of old Linn decks and a Rega one - DD uses one of the Linns now.
The hifi is setup as an input to the Sonos setup so we can actually put an album on and listen to it in the garden - although it does sound better direct.
I used to have to list the vinyl as a collection on the insurance till I moved to an unlimited contents policy.
The test room has all the acoustic treatment, having worked and played in studios most of the time it's not really the equipment that makes the most difference, it's the room acoustics (and don't get me started on snake oil cables)
