Some bills might bounce unless I had time to transfer savings over to CAs, but if things were that bad, we'd be past caring!!0 -
I have a password safe on my computer which has all my account details under handy labels like "Pension" and "Utilities". My main problem is to where I can leave the passwords for my computer and the password safe so that they're secure, but findable.3

He'll be one of our executors, along with one of our nieces although she'll likely deal with the practical emptying of the house as she currently has had to interrupt her year of world travel to return to the UK. I've told both just work together and get it all cleared and not to be too worried or sad.CRV1963- Light bulb moment Sept 15- Planning the great escape- aka retirement!2 -

Sea_Shell said:Well that was a windy old run this morning, chilly too, after such warm weather. Got out early, so lovely and quiet. Did 6miles in 59mins... speedy (well for me anyway)
DD last night was challenged to do a 5k run. I foolishly agreed to accompany her.
Neither of us run: couch to 5k in about 12 hours (#NoTraining 😂)
We were out this morning by 08:30, shuffling around.....some jogging, a bit of power walking, a few selfies.....but we managed nearly 6k in 50mins. Pretty slow, but as I told her, not bad for non-runners..... I was relieved/pleased we survived!
On the topic of information (what/where/how/when)....we have taken ours through things a couple of times. Probably a fair time to refresh that, I guess.
Passwords/logins are in a known place for them......we also have a spreadsheet with bills by month (mostly for us!), which would help with timings of stuff....
We do, however, need to adjust our wills to make them executors: last updated when they were small, so my sister was named executor. She is 100% trustworthy, but it makes more sense now for them to have that role. Wondering whether she can chose them anyway (should we both curiously peg out tomorrow....). Google is less than clear on this (only a quick skim).....Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!0 -

You have a PB now....a target...!!So, when all this is over and ParkRun starts up again, you'll be signing up, yes?
I've just been commenting on another thread by an OP who seems to think that runners are the devils spawn, and that we should not be allowed out during daylight hours, in case we breathe too much. Seriously, what is it with the anti-jogger sentiment, we're only trying to carry on with our lives as much as the rules allow. Healthy body, healthy mind etc.
99% of us are considerate, aware of our surroundings and other peoples space (and our own). Yes, there are plonkers about, the same as with any group (walkers, cyclists etc), but to tar us all with that wide brush is not on!!
For all they know, that "jogger" could be a Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic, whose best way of clearing their head from the c**p they have to deal with all day, is to go for a run. I don't think people recognise the mental wellbeing that you get from outdoor exercise.
Anyway, i'll stop now or i'll just be ranting against the ranters!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)5 -

If an executor is named, then at the time they are needed (if they are still alive) they can totally resign (but someone else would need to do it - ie the remaining executor, a solicitor) or they can "reserve powers" in case another of the executors dies or has a problem during the probate process. I'm not sure if they / you they could just name another random person. If you have a legal advice line with your home or car insurance, they might be able to answer the question. You might need to actually alter the wil, or add a proper codicil.

A police car passed me this morning on the country lane. I stepped to the verge to let them pass. Did they stop and question me...no. So they are obviously not bothered by how far I've run or how long for.
It was the most beautiful morning for a run. 6.8 miles, slow today as I did walk for a bit to really take in the "wonderfulness" of it all.
DH had been shopping....we have loo rolls!! They're only selling big packs, so we now have about 6 months worth. I can stop rationing them now!!
