My Sky+ box is currently knackered. Im told theres still a 2 month wait on HD, which i have registered for. My question is, the last time i had an engineer round, because he lives locally he gave me his number incase of any problems, so i could go through him instead of sky.

If i ring the guy, do you think he would be able to come and fit my Sky HD box earlier than the 2 months waiting list?
Nope! The sky bloke will only get the HD box for you once he's issued it from sky. He cant just come and fit it early cos he lives near you he needs to have been issued that box to you, all boxes are accounted for Im afraid.

If this needs moving feel free to, but I just called to cancel my additional Sky+ box due to lack of use and got offered the multiroom for £5 a month for the next 6 months. £30 in my pocket is better than in theirs!

    Hi Aldo
I've just successfully upgraded to Sky+ for £15 inc installation. I didn't know which number to ring, so I emailed Sky through their website (contact us) and told them I wanted to cancel as I was out at work all day and travelling a lot with my job so didn't get to see what I wanted to watch. I asked them for the cancellation procedure and the address to write to for cancellations. They rang me the next day and offered me this deal straight off. They said it isn't advertised on the web, but all the call centre staff know about it. I don't know if he was in the cancellations dept though, probably! Give it a go, it was soooo easy.:j

I emailed them last week too and managed to get it for £45 today :j I asked if that was the cheapest she could go and she said yes.

Right i work for SKY, im the person you call when you want this offer.
    Im here now.

The SKY+ HD box is £49 but it does have a £30 installation fee UNLESS you take out a new multiroom subsrciption which is £9.75 a month.

Also you have to pay £9.75 per month for the HD channels you will recieve (upto 32)

Oh and installation is free for new customers.

The whole "im going to cancel and get it free" thing only works for 1 in 5 people, sky realised what people were doing. So if you try it, they may just go ahead and cancel it for you without offering you anything.

And you cant rejoin as a new customer either, you'll be a rejoining customer unless you wait 12 months.

    :)

I cancelled SKY a few months ago as I never really used it (wasn't offered any special deals to stay with them). However since then Iam always getting offers through the door trying to get me to re-join. The latest is a free sky+ box and £50 of gift vouchers if I sign back up for 1 year.

Hi, thanks for this. It just seems to take me through to an on-line form though, no room to explain why you're thinking of cancelling. Is there an e-mail address? Thanks.
