Got sky+ for £45 as well...
Do you get a new card for the new box as want to put my standard box in another room and use it for the free channels?0 -
 @Sky today!
They have left me fuming and this is why....
I have recently moved house and OH decided he wants sky so we ordered it last week with an installation date of today... Great stuff.
On monday i received an email saying " as a new customer they are inviting us for one months free trial to have sky sports and sky world." then after the month is up just ring and cancel should we wish. So of course we thought great we will.
It said in the email it would take up to 48 hours.
Sky came today all good but NO extra channels So we waited till this evening thinking it might take time but still nothing. As the football is on tonight we really wanted it so i told my OH to give them a call.
After 1hr 14 minutes, being passed to 4 managers and 3 staff being kept on hold for 33 minutes in total we were told that we had received NO SUCH email, it didnt exist and we could not have this offer! Of course whilst im sat here with the email in front of me you can imagine i was none too pleased. i read the email out to them quoted terms and conditions to still be told i was wrong and there was nothing i could do. Noone was in the " department" that could sort our problem out and they suggest i email customer services:mad:

i have today just rejoined sky after nearly 3 years with Virgin.
just had enough with virgins system, the V+ was slow, problems getting more frequent(such as the HDMI lead always working its way lose and being told by engineers "oh we know.. it happens all the time") the phone support not the best, overseas call centre not really too helpful. and still after years of promises only 1 HD channel
Anyway i got put through to Virgins disconnections and they immediately offered to drop my monthly subscription down to £42 from £52.
but i cancelled my virgin TV then signed up for sky through quidco, early on in the day it was showing £100 for sky HD but when i joined up at 4.30pm it was £120...bonus.. it will cost me a few pounds more but i will get more HD channels + football first on sky sports, but with £30 of M+S vouchers and £120 of quidco, it works out about the same!!0 -

If it was me I would ring their cancellations team and explain why you are looking to cancel.
You are in your right to cancel your service within 7 days (I believe it's 7 days but don't hold me to this) of installation. Bear in mind you would lose your installation charges as they have obviously already done this work, so I'm guessing you don't actually want to go ahead with a cancellation, but obviously make out that you do seriously intend to cancel.
I'd have thought you could quite easily get 3 months free Sports/Movies out of them if you have the right attitude0 -
That is disgraceful of them I have to say.

I know i was non too happy too. I sent an email and i got an auto reply one back saying they will be back in touch asap. I will be pushing tho as we had people round for the football last night presuming it would be on.. so instead so as not to let people down we bought the sports package so i want this refunded2025 Wins ::

Got sky+ for £45 as well...
Same for me, started off at £99+£60 installation but then I pointed out how long I'd been with them, the offer for new customers and also that Virgin were looking for people in my area.
It's being fitted this Sunday which was sooner than I thought they'd do it!0 -

getting mine done on sunday as well and also surprised how quick they are doing it....
when i phoned in january they wanted £199 + £60 installation...
then yesterday £99 + £60 - said no way cant afford that and pointed out about the new deal for new customers.
result!!!!
a word of advice dont go on the phone guns blazing or you will probably get nothing, be chatty and just say nicely how disappointed you are about leaving them...0 -
I have a couple of vouchers for a free Sky+ box (£60 set up charge for existing or £30 for new) if anybody is interested. Drop me a PM.0
