Wonder why some get it for £15 and some for £49? Perhaps it depends how long you've been with them? or how determined they think you are to leave..or who you speak to! Not sure. I got it for £15 and been with them for 6 years this July so been out of contract for ages. £49 isn't bad though!0

I've been with them for nearly 20 years and got offered what i posted above, they wouldn't budge on the £15 for Sky+ + installation when i tried to push for it to be free0

After my SKY+ box died at the beginning of December, I ordered HD for £99 plus installation.
They stated that I would have to wait until 16th Jan for installation.
I managed to get the power supply fixed for £35 on my old SKY+, which kept me going over Christmas - thankfully.
Anyway, HD box installed without any problem on 16th Jan.
When the engineer came, he stated that the reason for the delay in installing was that SKY had changed their manufacturer of box. They are now Samsung boxes. SKY did not get the Samsung to build boxes until the last manufacturer had stopped, hence the gap.
Then soon after, out comes the SKY HD for £49. To say I was upset was an understatement!
So, last week I decided to detail all the dates of what had happened with the delays and asked Sky (via email) whether they thought it was fair.
To my great delight, they refunded £50 without a fight.
My advice to you is, if you ordered an HD box at the end of last year and had to wait, gently ask them for a refund. It worked for me. I can’t have been the only one...0 -
I ordered Sky plus in January and was told when ordering that there were no Sky HD deals coming in the forseeable future. The day Sky+ was installed I saw the advert for HD £49. I E Mailed their Customer service and received a telephone call from them stating as I was in the Cooling off period they would give me HD free. Still waiting for date but was told by a Sky installer that new customers are taking priority so it could be at least 2 more months before I get the new box. Oh Joy.0

Quick question as I shall be going to war with Sky over an HD+ box shortly. I am quite happy with my current broadband provider. Do I have to switch to Sky broadband? All I really want is the HD+ box.
What I'm planning to go is go in through their retentions number, tell them I want to cancel, see what I can in terms of Sky+ deals, and once I have the magic number (hopefully including free install) see if I can parlay that into an HD box.
You know, savbing money is great, but it's that endorphin rush from having succesfully haggled a good deal that gets me up in the morningProud to have dealt with my debts!
I have taken all Knowledge to be my province0 -
You don't have to have broadband from Sky to get HD.0

My Sky+ box is currently knackered. Im told theres still a 2 month wait on HD, which i have registered for. My question is, the last time i had an engineer round, because he lives locally he gave me his number incase of any problems, so i could go through him instead of sky.
If i ring the guy, do you think he would be able to come and fit my Sky HD box earlier than the 2 months waiting list?0
