The woman I spoke to told me my free Sky+ box would be brand new
Seems they make it up as they go along, will be having fresh words with Sky, thanks
  • I phoned Sky late this afternoon and gave them the usual sob story so got SKY + for £49. They are coming next Sunday.

PS. The original SKY box I had was installed with white cable
  • Hello People!
Here is my story to add to all the others. A good friend of mine managed to upgrade to sky+ and get a 160gb box with the 80gb split, 80 for your use and 80 for thiers for "anytime tv" My friend pestered me for a couple of months to get and in the meantime his girlfriend got the deal and 2 other friends, all getting the White PVR3 reciever. So at lunchtime today I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go, I went through all the automated stuff and got through to acall centre in India I presume and spoke to a guy and told him that I would very much like to have sky+ for free or £49 at minimum, as I had been a customer for nearly 10 years! when I started it was £11pm and It has creeped up now to £21, I was told in no uncertain terms, that unless I signed up for Skytalk, broadband, mutiroom etc there was no chance that I could get it for £49! He also informed me that he checked my account and told me that my account was preselected for certain offers but it had been taken off at the end of January! if I had rung at that time I may have been offered some kind of deal, to which I said How in the hell I could have known that, if no one let me know that was the case!, well with that and smoke coming out of my ears I said thanks for nothing and hung up.

I phoned back straight away and followed the prompts to the cancellation dept, where I got through t a lovely scottish lady, and said that I wished to cancel, she asked me why so I told her I was far from happy with things, not getting to watch the programmes I would like when I like, and at risk of upsetting the rest of the family I would end sky and go and get a DVD recorder/PVR with freeview from aldi on Sunday " Im just going to have a word with my manager, can you hang on?" came back and told me I could now have it for £49 with free install, and they could come and do it Monday morning!! I accepted, but asked her why could they didnt let me have it 15 mins earlier!

The only question mark over the deal is that I was told that I would be getting a black receiver 40gb PVR3 as they do not make or send out the 160gb white ones anymore, which are the ones my friends all seem to have, as they are now the HD ones, but I cannot find these on their site or on the web, I phoned again this evening and was told that it would be white 40gb, still unsure, I will wait and see what I have on Monday, but pleased to have Sky+ in time for christmas :j:j

    Busy mummy of 4.:j

    hey!
it will be the white box seeing as its the one advertised.. i got sky + free today, installin next week. the guy said its the white one... but the brand depends on wots in the van! so ask before they open a box up if u want somethin particular...

make sure its new as well...
  • Checking what make could be difficult as I will be at work, and my wife is a self confessed technophobe and would not know one from the other! but I will try to make sure its a new one at least, I have been looking at these to try and figure out what one is the most likely I will be getting.
