Has everyone who has been offered this price (or free) threatened to cancel?
I have been with Sky over 6 years and only last month took up the £5 broadband so I can't really threaten to cancel as I am in a 12 month contract for broadband, which depends on me being a Sky customer.
Any comments appreciated.0 -
Apologies of there is already a thread on this, but Comet are offering Sky HD for £99 (New and existing customers) if you sign up to Sky Talk as well (Not sure there is a minimum contract on the Sky Talk)...£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
£400 O/D Lloyds TSB
£2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
£5070 Black Horse Finance
Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0 -
Just hope it's a new SKY+ box that comes as i am in work when the guy comes to install and will have to get someone to stay in while he fits it, wont be happy if they send me a used box after paying the £49
How big is the hard drive on the SKY+ box, forgot to ask when I phoned them the other night0 -

hey its basically 160GB but u can only access 80gb of it.. the other 80 is for the sky anytime thing... so 80gb for recording - thats like 40hrs i think!!!
the sky anytime is wot they send...like top shows that u can get at any time... so chances are wot u are recording might already be on anytime i guess
make sure the box is new...and jsut make sure they do the wiring all nicely!0 -
oh yeh and if they say buy sky broadband etc - dont fall for it... u can still get the sky+ free...just say ur leaving to virgin! and then they give it for free!0

Whats the best number to call so you can speak to a nice scottish lady?
As I am a chicken and just want an easy phone call.Have you got a job yet?
NO? Then :shhh:0 -
I happened to have a nice scottish lady too! and in answer to "akh43" in my case I did, even tho I did not want to really, but would have done if they had called my bluff, just have a backup plan to get freeview. I am now going to try and be cheeky and see if I cannot get it for free and get the £49 refunded, as people are getting it free and been with them a lot less than the nearly 10 years that I have, if I dont succeed, I will still be happy to have it for £49.0

Right well after a loooong wait hanging on, I got through to a chap who then put me on hold for a further 5mins and ending up speaking to a liverpool accented manager who said they do not just give away free sky+ boxes with free installation, those that have got it must have have signed up for more extras like multiroom etc, or used "cheats" so Im stuck with paying the £49 , so for those that have managed to get it buckshee, you lucky B*@**, I mean congratulations and well done, LOL0
