You do not always get a new dish , my mum had her sky fitted this weekend and when the engineer came he said the dish was fine but he would replace the receiver for a new one , after a bit of discussion and a phone call to sky ,, they told us it is up to the engineer to decide if u need a new dish or not , but u do not have to have one if ur dish is in gd conditionDont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0

thanks escapee---just off to order now...have a code from the referral board to get sky+ for £49, no fitting fee, sky will also give me £50 M&S vouchers and also £15 credit to account...seems very good deal to me .
Was there a long time between odering and getting fitted?
Sorry for the delay in responding Jim, I ordered last Thursday and it was fitted the following Monday (yesterday) so no time at all. I think the only delay people encounter is if they order a Sky+HD box which are in very short supply and are not able to be ordered/fitted until the end of January.
Judging by the other respondants on this thread it seems that the decision on removing the old dish is down to each individual sky engineer. I did notice that he had broken the LNB bracket arm on my old dish, which leads me to believe he was considering leaving it up and replacing the single LNB for a quad LNB but as the arm had snapped he had no choice but to replace the entire dish. My original dish was in very good condition.0 -

For example when I signed up my brother recommended me on their "recommend a friend scheme" and we both got Sky+ for free (it was £150 at the time) and I got half price installation at £30.
Phone and broadband are available as standard on any Sky package, though you seem to have to pay higher setup fees unless you take these when you first subscribe! Another benefit for new customers
The most recent offer I saw was free Sky+ for the new subscriber and £50 of M&S vouchers for the person recommending them. As such if you're a Sky subscriber yourself you should be able to benefit from this0 -

thanks, ordered this on sunday night, is being fitted on saturday morning. Would like a new dish as the one thats up is over 8yrs old but am not that bothered as long as it works ok and they will cover it for the 12mths from installation. Might also see if I can persuade the installer to put another connection into another room so can use my freesat box in there
thanks again

can anyone help me. last tenant said she had sky +, and ive noticed ive two telephone boxes on wall in lounge that are linked, plus god knows how many cables ouside house lol, does that mean i can just buy the box?, sky will only do a deal of £49 for box and wont budge on the £60 fitting fee, but do i need it fitting? can you just plug it in?You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on0

Can anyone advise regarding this if possible?
Been with Sky for 8 years, upgraded to Sky+ in 2005 and have one of the first generation Sky+ boxes. Pay £47 a month and hubby likes the box office Wrestling as well and usually has those too.
The box we have is generally OK but has started interrupting recordings and doesn't have the Anytime TV facility. The wire that connects the box to the telephone no longer works either but we can still get sky and record things, it'll just interrupt the recording!
I rang Sky last week who said min £65 call out for an engineer plus cost of repair  or £199 plus £60 installation for a new Sky+ box.
I wasn't particularly happy with either suggestion so I asked if they could do anything with the price on a new box and all they could do was cut installation to £30.
I said I was going to cancel my subscription and I was told that would be fine but I'd have to call another number and I kept getting cut off when I called.
Would really just like a newer Sky+ box so we can record properly, I personally wouldn't mind cancelling but DH is addicted to Sky and almost cried when I said I would cancel!
Does anyone know about how to get a reduced price Sky+ box from Sky, what to say or a particular number to call?
Thanks
