I just tried this and was successful!! Told sky we wanted to cancel due to shift patterns and cost cutting, they immediately offered free sky+ box and installation........and then offered us telephone rental at £10 per mth too! When we said we already had a similar deal with BT they offered us a whole year FREE line rental to switch with free calls after 6pm so we took that too! Really surprised at how easy it was to get something for nothing.....well just the price of the phone call (which was 50 mins I hasten to add) but well worth it!
Am on a roll now, gonna see what else in life is free! :rotfl:0 -
Hi all,
I just got free Sky plus sorted this afternoon. They (Sky operators) appeared to very busy as their subscriptions are going up in September and they don't want to lose subscribers so deals abound.
I used advice from the posts here saying credit crunch, working and no time to watch etc. I was offered a deal with free box and £30 installation. I said that I would take it if it was for free but had to agreed on 12 month contract etc.
A Manager agreed a credit on my account after I pay up front for installation (£30), hence FREE!.
The softly, softly approach (:A) seems to work best here.
Sky + on it's way within the next 2 weeks. :T Happy days.

Hey guys
Spoke to Sky today and said that, although I knew I was in a 12 month contract for the broadband, that having Sky was not cost effective as I was missing programmes etc and that I was considering cancelling and just paying off the broadband contract. I immediately got asked the 'have you heard about Sky +' question and played dumb. Was offered Sky + and installation for £30 so long as I switched to a Sky phone line and was given 12 months free line rental on that too. Very very happy.0 -
Told my friend to try this and she got it for £30 too!Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

Yeah, rang up pretended to be my dad, played dumb and getting sky plus for free upstairs on multiroom subscription
we've been with them for 7 years which probably helped alot... the woman said that if we wernt with talk talk she couldve given us free broadband and calls with our existing sky world package for £47.00 pm. will have to ring back and threaten to cancel again in 10 months after talk talk contract expires...
cheers and gone0 -
