Hi folks, looking for some advice to help me get free sky+. I have read through the posts but wondered if anyone could help me clear the following up:
1. Is there a best day to call and is there a best time of the day to call?
2. Do you have to ask to be put through to cancellations?
3. Does it help if you take extra services, ie phone and broadband?
Any advice much appreciated. :beer:0 -

My daughter rang today and got Sky+ free with free installation. She told them if they didn't agree to it, she'd simply cancel her contract, and her fiance would take out a new contract in his name with the bloke in the shopping centre who was offering it for free to new customers.0

oh it didnt work for me
i am on the full package (all tv channels, phone and broadband) but I am still in contract till october (my second 12 month contract). I rang and said that I wanted to downgrade my package as I wasnt getting time to watch all the channels so it wasnt value for money. They looked at my package and idendifed certain channels that I didnt watch and took them off. They didnt mention skyplus, so at the end of the call I just asked if there was any offer on sky plus instead of me downgrading. I was told £49 for the box, £30 installation and 12 month contract at full package which is around £47 per month
I said it was too expensive, and they wouldnt budge, said that was the only offer at the moment
nevermind though, as my monthly package has come down in price as some of the channels i never watched have been taken away! So money saving in the endaim to be debt free in 2009.....total so far (24.01.09) £940.45/£15089:eek: ..on my way :money:0 -
called the 01506 421884 number and said I wanted to cancel
Offered Sky+ for free with £60 installation - after haggling got it for £10
Thanks folks0 -
I phoned free on 08442414141.I said I wanted to cancel as it was too expensive and I would be better off putting the money to a freeview box or freesat PVR and I was missing all my favourite shows as my work hours had changed,First I was offered Sky+ for £49 and free installation but I pleaded poverty and then was offered Sky+ and installation for nothing.I think you need to give them a reason for cancelling that they can offer a solution to then tell them you cant afford to pay.HTH:D"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

I've been without sky for the past week and I called on 1st August to say how much I missed my sky. I asked if there were any deals going and was told by a guy that it had eneded on 31st july. meanwhile I have since see that it is indeed on going and some have managed to continue to be sucessful. For me I put it down to the gift of persuasion. I know I don't have bargaining techniques. I'd offer to pay anyone to do the work but I am indeed brasique..... I will try again anyhow - it may just be my day, That Day!0
