When I rang, I genuinely was going to cancel so when he went through all the options, I wasn't fazed by the fact he initially seemed to be going through the disconnection procedure, so maybe he realised I was "genuine". I also got chatting to him and we built up a good rapport. I told him (honestly) that as my gas and leccy DD had just gone up by £40 pcm, I needed to make cut backs.

I didn't sound desperate, didn't go overboard about how broke I was etc etc, but in the end, maybe I just got a lovely bloke. (He was called Paul btw)

And when I said I was single again, he said he'd put a note on to say only gorgeous single engineers to call :rotfl: (Some hope - I'll not hold my breath :D)

I am a sky customer and have been for 6 months. I want sky plus, but it is £210 including installation, but only £129 including installation for new customers. THat's not fair. Existing customers should have the same deal. £210 is too expensive especially as I don't have a hell of a lot of money, but I am prepared to pay upto £129 for it. What should I do, anyone have any ideas?

(Luckily I used an 01 number and my free mobile minutes cos the whole call took 36 mintues!!)

    Well done :T

unfortunately for u, if u have only been a customer for 6 months there is not alot u can do at the moment, cause if u threaten to cancel, u will still have to pay the next 6 month fees as u r tied into a 12 month contract, only thing i can suggest is to wait the 6 months, and then phone them and try and get the £49 deal, or even better still get it for free, Dave
Take every day as it comes!!

Had a Sky salesperson in my area on Thursday. Not many good offers, apart from Sky HD box (& installation) for £75. It is a good price, but don't want to pay the £10 a month subscription fee!
