Incidently I just rang back again (nothing ventured nothing gained), explained that the line had got cut off (que much tutting) and firstly got offered sky plus for £49 to which I said, oh I would love to but sadly I do not have my bank card with me as I am at work, on hold for a few minutes and then miraculously I got it for free. Horah. Little effort, 15 minutes on the phone. Got to wait 2 1/2 weeks for installation, but can't complain when it's free?!

just rang sky to take of a channel and they offered me sky plus for £79 plus £60 fitting if i took movies or sports for 12 months.I then advised them that sky on the internet is only £75 plus fitting.

they make it up as they go along and denied giving out any sky boxes for free !!!!!!!!

I just rang Sky to cancel (genuinely) as I have 2 sky boxes and decided to use them as Freesat. Told the guy that money was tight etc etc. He went through the "is there anything we can do" routine and I said "not unless you want to give it me for free cos I really don't have the spare cash" etc

He offered me Skyplus for £49 - I said "can't afford it"

He said "because you have been with us 6 years you can have it free"
I said that I didn't want to be tied into a 12 month contract as I didn't know if I could afford it. He said that as I had been with them so long, I could cancel at any time with no penalty.

So - Sky + being fitted free next tuesday. Also I have got round to reducing my channel packages and he has even given me multi-room for £5. So not only have I got sky plus, I have made a saving of £10 a month to boot. :D:D

(Luckily I used an 01 number and my free mobile minutes cos the whole call took 36 mintues!!)

Unless you're still in your original 12mnth contract, they have to leave it, any box is yours to keep after your 12mnth contract. They may offer to "recycle" it for you, but that just means they get to take it home and sell it on themselves!

I live in North Wales and have had a leaflet through the door saying in our area if you are an existing customer you can get sky+ for £49 including installation.

The was also a stall in Morrisons saying exactly the same and we signed up for it through them. They also said we could sky multiroom for the same price.

Both the leaflet and the guys at Morrisons says that we are in a switchover region (not really sure what that means) and only our area currently is applicable for this offer.

So if there is anybody living up here and wants it then it doesn't sound bad to me.

    Hi

After reading everyone attempts. I plucked up the courage to call and as with most of us, I was offered £49 straight away. I tried my best but would not budge. Said I wold try calling later....... Tried a few mins ago. To be honest it takes absolutely ages to get through to the right team, was on hold for about 10 mins and then got cut off twice!! Had enough, So going to try tomorrow, maybe try and catch when they are not so busy.

Determined to try and get it free!!!
