for those who have had sky+ already indtalled, I have a couple of questions:
1. Do they put in a "New" dish or do they just put in a new quad LNB on the existing sky dish?
2. Will they be willing to move the "old" digi box in a different room so you can watch freestats on it (NOT multiroom so you cannot watch the subscription channel)?
I am getting the free sky plus put in this Sunday. Once I have the sky plus in the living room, I want to then use my current digibox in the bedroom just for the frrestat channels. Do you think they will do this or has anybody tried this?
By the way, I asked about Sky broadband, and was told that activation fee will be £75. I declined so he waived the fee and game me the broadband package completely FREE.0 -
I've just had a call from Sky as I sent an email saying I wanted to cancel but the woman I spoke to today didn't offer me anything! I said a lot of the things that others on here have said but the only thing she "offered" was to reduce the amount of channels I have and to reduce my broadband package in order to bring my monthly cost down...hardly a reason for me to stay!!
Is this the only call I can expect or will I receive another call from a more dedicated retention department, perhaps this was only customer service? If it was retention, she certainly wasn't bothered in retaining me!!0 -
i have had no joy either. told me point blank no upgrade unless i pay £209:T0

the reply about cancelling and rejoining from sky using james murdoch email which does not workI am sorry that you are not happy with my response, however the position remains unchanged.
"Should you cancel your account with the view of Mr Cuffling opening a new account, it would show as a duplicate and be rejected as the surname, address and possibly the bank details would be the same as your cancelled account.":T0 -
Just got off the phone with sky after telling them i want to cancel due to new customers getting free Sky+ boxes and i would be happier using freeview.
Once i confirmed that i deffinatly wanted to cancel, out off the blue she tells me there is a special offer for existing sky customers for a free sky+ box and free instulation ( just made it up in order to justify giving me a free box)
They are fitting it this Saturday,
Saving in the region of £99 sky box and £60 instulation
So my advice to you all is do the same to get your free box make sure you confirm you want to cancel with them otherwise they cant make you any offers.
bear in mind you have to give 30 days notice so if you are one of the unlucky ones who gets offered nothing you can always call back 29 days later saying you no longer wish to cancel ( so nothing to lose).
bear in mind there working week is friday -thursday the best day to call is tuesday or wednesday as they only have a limited amount of offers.
Hope this helps you all out in getting a free sky+ box

I just phoned up and have ended up canceling my Sky Subscription. I told them the truth, that my box wasn't working properly and it wasn't worth paying for a new one when FreeSat is cheaper. They offered me an engineer to come out and fix it for free and I said no, it was too old to bother. They then offered me a new box for free, but not Skyplus. They would only give me Skyplus if I got the movies or sports. I told them I got the Sports every autumn for the NFL and was that any good and they wouldn't have it. So now we no longer have Sky:eek:. Oh well there's s*d all on it anyway these days0

Why dont you phone up to upgrade to sports package then phone back later to cancel subscription and get the free box offer when you have your free sky+ box phone up and cancel the sports...0
