Having reviewed the position, I can confirm that currently, as an existing subscriber, by ordering online, you can receive Sky+ for £159.00 including installation. Unfortunately I am unable to offer you a free Sky+ box.
Sky does very much value its existing customers, and we seek to maintain their long term loyalty by continuing to invest in the quality and variety of our services.
This would be the same quality and services that are available to new customers at a vastly reduced rate/fee, so they do truly value their existing customers - not!
30 JuneWhilst I note your enquiry I would advise that I am unable to comment on other subscribers and what they may or may not have received.
However, as previously advised unfortunately I unable to offer you a free Sky+ system. I am sorry that my response could not be more favourable but hope that I have clarified our final position in regards to this matter.
Kind Regardsxxxxxxxx

I already have sky + but we are moving in a few weeks, I wanted to know is it better to cancel my subscription and take it out in OH's name at new address and maybe ask for sky HD cheaper or see if they will put sky in at new address free and discount my package etc.
I wondered what anyone else has been offered during a move.Competition wins - 09/03 - £500 ELC Vouchers 11/04 - Lush Goodies 21/04 - Gillette Fusion Gift Pack 22/05 - Mirrors DVD 29/05 - Return Flights to London & £500 29/05 - £50 Homebase Gift Vouchers 20/09 - Remote Control Helicopter 28/09 - £225 Bingo Win 05/10 £25 Photobox Vouchers 16/09 £90 Cash 30/11 £29 Cash 03/01 £20 03/04 Fifa Football :T0 -
I phoned last week and in a roundabout way said I was thinking about leaving - the woman there said she couldn't offer me anything. Following advice on this forum I phoned through again and said I was leaving and would be using Freeview instead. The man there said if I took out a premium channel at an additional £9 (which I could cancel within the month) I could get the box and installation free. Three days later it was in. Result.
I think it may be better to call at the end of the month (quotas, I'd imagine) and to be fairly assertive in wanting to cancel, or else it may prove more likely that they will call your bluff.
Good luck if you try it!0 -
I cancelled with Sky as was not impressed with offer for existing customer, and then saw stand in local shopping centre and was advised by the guy there to order new system in different name. (Other half, different bank account). This cost £30 for new customer which I am more than happy with. Really like Sky+ so am glad I did it.0

Resorted to the same tactics. Enrolled as a new customer with the Sky man in town centre using O.H. and different account. No problems, even told the guy the truth. So getting SKY+ installed next week and after first month of movies, I can drop them and revert back to my original package.
I ask you though, what a load of hasstle. I think in future, if I ever want anything from Sky, I shall just cancel and rejoin as a new customer. The one thing I regret is the £5+ I spent on phone calls to Sky. I just wish there was a viable alternative that put on th eprogrammes i like, FX and Hallmark.
Ah well can't win them all, but I did win this battle :j0 -
Can someone tell me where the referrer's board is, please as I have been told to look here before
just a watch out , i mentioned the referrals board to someone a few weeks ago and mentioned that existing sky views could get free sky+ and the other person would get sky+ as well and they may be able to get it to. They PM messaged me and asked if I would refer them, was happy to do so for a fellow MSE and you guessed it they got their free sky+ and wouldnt send me a message back. ".0 -
Yes, it is a lot of hassle, but its still a nice feeling getting something for thirty quid when you had been quoted £209 or no deal. I reasoned I also save about seven quid a month for a year as the box is under warranty and I was insuring the previous one, and I have now cancelled that. So in a bit over four months I will get my thirty quid back. (Even though Sky prices have just gone up, but that would have happened anyway). If Sky wont play fair then we shouldnt either and will have to revert to devious means!!0
