your point is? i didn't have sky+ before so i've lost nothing from trying.0 -
Nick72 - do you also have your broadband/phone with them? Do you subscribe to Movies as well?
I tried telling them I was going to cancel yesterday, hinted that V+ had offered me a better deal and they offered SKy+ for £99 inc. installation (so techniclaly free installation).
I'm wondering whether I didn't get offered the free deal because I am not a lucrative customer for them, i.e. I only subscribe to 2 "mixes" and The full Sports package (except Setanta).
I cannot move my phone/broadband as I am tied into TalkTalk until December.
P.S. Not sure how that angry red face got on the header of my message - I didn't mean it and now it won't let me delete!0 -
I don't have broadband or phone with them either - might have explained why I could not get a freebee?0

Obviously don't possess the bargaining skills of previous posters! Telephoned Sky advising that I wish to cancel as BT Vision offer a similar deal to Sky+ and I am in contract with BT Broadband. I already pay £36.00 for six mixes with Sky so thought I might get offered Sky+ for £49.00 but the best he could do was £159.00. Had no option but to proceed to cancel really. Said they prefer to keep customers but he didnt do a very good job did he? Need to find a new package now within 30 days.0

No I dont have the broadband or telephone with sky. I'm on a 5 mix package with sky sports1 (until the new season starts). Then I will get the full package back.
I don't know how I did it or whether sky has cottened on?0 -
Yes, It does seem from the very recent page of posts that maybe Sky are cottoning on, but I think it all depends who you get though to at Sky
If the conversation gets to the point of no return and they ask to confirm if you would like to cancel, you could always try cutting them off and blaming bad reception. That way you keep your account and should be able to phone back another day and try again
Good Luck !!!0 -
Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes.
I want to get our normal Sky box changed to a Sky+ box. I had a look online and it looks like they want to charge me £159 for it. £99 for the box and £60 to install it. Does anyone know of anyway I can get them to do it cheaper.
Cheers

I've been reading thru' this thread and thought i'd give it a try. we've been with sky for 14 years and never had anything from them so thought we may get lucky.
phoned them earlier today and they were totally intransigent! they would not budge on the £149 price for sky+. told them we would probably cancel. emailed them later this afternoon so am now awaiting a reply to see what they say now but don't hold out a lot of hope.0
