just thought i'd say a big thankyou to you all!:T
after calling sky about 4 times, i managed to get a really lovely lady, who very kindly agreed to me having 2 sky+ boxes for £49 each and free install. yipeeeeeee!!!!:D :j
they offered me them for £148, at first, and i said that i couldn't possibly afford that near xmas, i said that i was going to cancel, but will leave it untill next week when i have had chance to look around at the other deals on offer. Tuesday or wednesday is when the best to ring, as they get their quota of offers assigned to each member of staff.
today the lady said that at 6.30, they will have had a new quota for the weekend, so i guess if you'r phoning on Sunday, best to phone about 7-7.30 ish
good luck to everyone
trese;)i keep losing weight, but it just keeps on finding me!!!!!!:D0 -
Just a thought
Is the reason they are starting to refuse people free sky+ and calling their bluff because they've been tipped a wink about this thread?
When I was offered Sky+ free, installation wasn't mentioned, has anyone had to pay an installation fee after being offered the box for free?0 -
hi e1 been reading this thread with great intrest would love sky + phoned on sat morning didnt have nerve for cancellation (sorry) was quoted £129 then £49 if i took multiroom do they keep much on record when you phone etc or could i try bluffing my way saying i'd take the £49 offer but plead dumbness over multiroom any thoughts would be gratefully appreciated0

No, it's to give access to the EPG that gives access to the Sky+ recording facilities. You can still use the box as a normaldi gibox.
errrrrrrrrr call me daft but surely that is a rental fee, if you have to pay £10 per month to use the service!!
I think what they was trying to say that it a bit like pay as you go as in you have no contract with them.DEBT FREE 23/FEB/07 TWO YEAR's!! £2 £1020.00 Banked New total £268+ and counting SAVINGS 3000.00- ISA £30. :j0 -
Another thanks here. I was going to buy a box for my mum & dad for xmas and was quoted £149 + 30 installation. After reading this thread I got my dad to call & threaten to cancel. He was offered the box for £49 and quickly accepted. Getting fitted this week - perfect & in time for christmas!!0

Just had mine fitted for free

just go for it, tell them you are cancelling because you never get time to watch
they will ask you what programs you like to watch and if you know about sky+ ....I said I know very little about it
they should offer you sky+ for 49 quid (although it appears others haven't had the offer)
say you can't afford to pay anything as money is tight with christmas etc
hopefully they will offer you sky+ free0 -

According to the guy I spoke with on Friday afternoon, I had to accept his offer of free Sky + box plus free installation by midnight that night otherwise I wouldn't get it offered to me again! lol

Well no free Sky plus for me and no special deal on inclusive calls either (I've only been with them for 20 years!) offered the box at £49 but I declined it, so I have cancelled sky now, cut off date 2 January. Shame because I am kind of used to it after an analogue box way back followed by a digital box but such is life.
I was going to transfer broadband and telephone to them as well, now it looks like its Virgin media for me.0 -
hi
i tried yesterday and today, the nearest i got was an offer of sky plus for £99 plus £30 installation, needless to say i said no to that one.
guess it wasn't to be for me!Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0
