My OH just tried for the free sky plus, as before we were offered the £49 offer, stuck to our guns, and held out. Didn't go to plan as they didn't budge so have ended up cancelling both our sky and broadband packages oops, not how I'd intended, but as we have different surnames shouldn't be too much of a problem signing up under current option to get free sky plus box for new customers once our old contract ends. Be warned though they don't always cave. Hope everyone else has more luck than us.Wins this year: Jet2 flight (£110). £500 Heart fm. Phil Collins Love songs cd (£5.99)0

I presume if you get Sky+ for £50/free, you have to take out a 12 month contract from the point of order?0

 Help!!
I finally plucked up the courage after reading all the posts on sky+ for free etc. Gave them the line about wanting to cancel. The fella said ok!!! and gave me a cancellation date!! I asked about sky + and he told me £99 so i cancelled!! Oh nO. I have been with them for years and pay £26 As i get disney for the kids. But because of where i live (Hull) we cant have the broadband or phone. Got worried after half hour thinking of my cancellation date of 31/1/08 so i reinstated it!!! I know i am a chicken!! Never mentioned sky+ this time and never offered.
I am now stuck and don't know what do to would really like it but it is expensive. Does any one have any tips on what i should do now?
Many thanks Dee;)0 -

Apparantly if you cancel within the 12 months you just pay SKY £10 a month for the use of the SKY+ box. You are not stuck into a 12 month contract but have to pay if you stop your package0 -

Well tried agian to get the sky+ for free but the lady in Scotland was having none of it.
No cheap offers of £49 and Nothing for Free regardless of how many years you have been with them.
An absolute joke.
What bad economic business in losing the £42 per month income for the sake of a free sjy+ box which probably costs them about a fiver.
I hope the satellites blow up and so do sky!!!!
A complete bunch of utter scumbags!0
