brand new 160gig box and dish.
the whole thing crashed last night.
had to ring sky, the hard drive had stopped working, had to reset the whole thing. this is how uou do it:
on remote, click services - 1 then 5 then select (or possibly 5 then 1?). this pulls up the installer menu, click system reset and problem fixed x

When we called we mentioned that last year they gave us a discount rate for 3 months (i think) with sky movies/sports but were told that they didnt have any offers like that this year, but i suppose its always worth asking, as they might change their mind.

I had a call last month regarding this and i'm getting a discounted rate for 3 month's I am not sure if it's half price though think it's £30 a month, I will be canceling at the end cause sky movies are rubbish!!
    DEBT FREE 23/FEB/07 TWO YEAR's!! £2 £1020.00 Banked New total £268+ and counting SAVINGS 3000.00- ISA £30. :j

    Hi

Tried my hand at this and (eventually) ended up with a new sky+ box for £49 but with a £30 credit on my account.

The angle they took was that I've been a long time subscriber (which I have), I own a fair bit of their kit (inc HD) (which I do) and that I'd really miss it if I cancelled (which I would)...

Anyway, to cut a long story short after much brinksmanship from me and a lot of huffing and puffing from them their superviso came on the line and offered the £30 credit on my account so the sky+ has cost me £19. I'm pretty pleased with that especially as the now redundant sky box will get most of that back on eBay.

    Happy Days
    Uh?
  • Thanks to the advice on here, i'm also getting SKY+ free. Coming to fit it on Sun 02/12/07.Many Thanks

I was not able to get sky+ for free so did not go with the offer of it for £50 but if I had they told me the fitters needed to take the old box away with them.
  • They came today this morning and said that they did not know they would have to get onto the roof and said they didn't have the correct ladders with them so went away with them, not very impressed! (They were from a contract company, not sky themselves for some reason!)
