Sky plus £49 for existing customers

Ther thing i really would like is multi room i am not to fussed about sky + box or anything plus as well i am quite a nerves person and i am kinda scared to ring them up god i sound so sad lol x

the engineer came today-said they are loosing too many customers to virgin media... and said hence free sky+

just ring and say we finding it to costly escpecailly as we want to watch tv which comes on at the same time!!! and that we will need to downgrad or cancel sky as we cant see the point of watcing such small amounts of tv...

then aask are there any deals that you can apply to make it cheaper... or any promos

at this point thery will prob say sky+ for like 99 or 49..then say well to be honest i think if it was free we wuld stick with sky! an then they will offer it free

Huge thank you to OP from me - we arrange Sky+ and installation at the weekend for £99 plus £30 installation - hubby has just telephoned the cancellation line, said we're 'longstanding' loyal customers & to say we'd heard of others getting it for free (or £49) and they've cancelled the original order and re-arranged it at £49 all in for installation next Saturday - £80 saving a month before Christmas ;o)

I have just got myself and my sister free Sky+ today.
Sis has been with Sky for years and I rang up through the introduce a friend offer. I was quite impressed as they are coming to install it on Monday.
I can't wait to be able to Sky+ all those lovely David Tennant appearances this xmas now

Just phoned sky saying that I'd like to cancel because "I'm never in when the programs I want to watch are on and when I am then the wife and kids are usually watching something", also said I was going to get a freeview recorder instead.

I was told that they are doing a special for today only where I can have a sky+ box and install for free.

They come next week to install.

I phoned up at 7.30 this evening. Told them I wanted to leave as I was spending a lot of time at my girlfriends house and kept missing stuff as a tape was too short to record everything. I have a HDD recorder but they didn't need to know that. I was told that it was my lucky day and as I have been with Sky since 1999 I could have it for free. Yes! completely free of charge. Free box and free installation. They are coming on Friday 7th to fit it. I'm a very happy bunny!!

wow!!! cant believe some got it for free i tried every which way there was to get a good deal on sky+ sales then thru to cancelation etc etc nothing!!!!! phoned back again still nothing even tried the introduce a friend offer my friend had but only for brand new customers. so in the end my friend knew the local sky man and he did it for 80.00 shame as i cant complain to sky now

1st go, got through to a gent in India, who after 10 mins of tooing and froing with his supervisor put me through to sales in the UK. They gave me short shrift, no deals no discounts and no freebies. The sales person then played hell with me for being transferred to her from India!!! I hung up.

2nd go, followed the instructions above, got through to a really nice Scottish person, my free Sky plus is being installed on Saturday!!!

I definately pays to try again, after all they cant see you shaking like a leaf at the other end of the phone!!!!

so many thanks to the o.p. After reading the thread I phoned this afternoon and asked how much notice for cancellation-was told 30 days.Why says he never in says I. Oh says he sky+ is 179+installation BUT as loyal customer you can have it for 49.00+installation. Noo I might as well get freeview. He tries to tell me that the kids can record their programs. Me thinks that if the channels on they can watch it or go without. RESULT as compromise if I have multiroom with old box relocated free installation+box etc monday. Win-win. Was a nervous bunny-now a happy bunny.:j

First he said £49 then the 'talk to my supervisor' malarky, where he goes and puts the kettle on and then...
