"I was not able to get sky+ for free so did not go with the offer of it for £50 but if I had they told me the fitters needed to take the old box away with them."

They never mentioned that and I never asked.

I was under the impression that I owned the box and, therefore, I can do what I like with it.

    Am I right?
    Uh?

Certainly hope so Sumodog. Our free Sky+ package included relocation of existing box. Then I can watch the footie without having to wrestle for the remote to get it off Walt Doesni.
    Being installed tomorrow.

Nah, shouldnt be. When my mum had it fitted, they just ran a cable thru to the socket to check it would work.

No. They told me that it has to be connected to a working telephone line that is connected for both ingoing and outgoing calls 24/7. I had to clarify that this was the case before they proceeded with the order.

Our telephone point isn't in the same room as our TV, so they have run a cable along the wall and round the doorframe. Annoying but it had to be done.

We have our Sky Plus being fitted Monday, got the £49 deal but we haven't been with Sky very long so I'm not complaining.
  • We had Sky fitted last week and he left the box along with the old cable and dish!!! A trip to the tip was needed as we wanted to keep nothing. They had a special container for the dishes so plenty of people must be taking up this offer.

Had Sky+ fitted this morning. Was also due to get multiroom (admin error means they are coming back on Tuesday).
They have left the original box and a new card has arrived in the post.
