Just in case those of you who are having trouble with this arent calling the correct number, its the Freephone one in the original post -
0808 1014438
the options to choose are "cancellations" and "turnaround"0 -
I am not having any joy with this, I took out my sky in early May this year and I have called 3 times now and every time I get told that it will cost £149 + £30 install.
Does anyone have any advice, I am normally quite good at getting deals over the phone but I am finding this one hard.
Any help appreciated. They have the internet on computers now!!!0 -
You are probably not having any joy as you only took your contract out in May.....are you on a 12 month one? If so they may not contemplate giving you any incentive to stay with them until your term ends next May. Bit of a pain really.
Try ringing again, but make sure it's the cancellation department not the sales peeps that you speak to (or was it them that you spoke to?)
Good Luck!!0 -
We are having ours fitted on Wednesday and i wondered if those of you that have already had yours done if there was much mess as we understand another wire has to be fitted from the dish and there has to be a connection to your phone.
We have not long had an extension built and the builder did a neat job re siting the dish, plus our phone is a long way from the TV so is it compulsary to have that connection done and are they strict about it?
We want it done neatly, but want as little mess as possible as we are in our sixties and not as fit as we were.
Any tips would be most welcome, thank you0 -
When we had our normal sky box fitted last year it had to be connected to the phone line (though not with sky for phone) same as you our phone point could not be further away from the sky box but it was not a problem and the wiring is very neat. As for connecting to the dish they drilled a neat hole through the wall with a plastic surround so it looks nice and tidy. We are having our Sky+ installed tomorrow (freeeeeeee!!!) so I assume they will use the same hole for any new wiring to the dish.
Hope this helps.0 -
finally after 2 calls im getting it free on saturday thanks to op :T

Ours came today, and the engineer just took out the old wiring, put new wiring in (using the existing hole in the wall) and replaced the box. Took about 15mins total, no mess at all.0

I have been a sky customer for years and I've finally decided to bite the bullet and try to get sky+ out of them (hopefully for free!!!). Just wondering if anyone knows the policy concerning the phone line? My mom has multiroom and they sent her a letter saying that she must plug the extra boxes in. I haven't got a landline, so I'll have to factor that in if I do decide to get sky+ if the phone line is a necessary.0
