FootyFanDan said:Hey,
Finally the weekend!...just the small matter of 5 hours more of my night shift to complete. The little one has finally recovered enough to go about her usual stuff again, she was gutted she missed school world book day. She has got 2 drama performances tomorrow though so she is properly excited for these, she is doing 'Frozen' then also in the evening she is doing 'Annie' which should take up most of our Saturday. I am thinking of taking her out on Sunday...she has asked for a daddy/daughter date hahaha where do they get this stuff! she is some character, but we have hardly seen each other much due to work commitments of mine so its a lunch date with cinema so that should be nice.
Plan updates:
1. Check all accounts for any direct debits that are no longer relevant and cancel. Done
2. List all current direct debits and align any dates that need adjusting Done
3. Set up standing orders to go from my wages account into the monzo pots.
4. Work out a 'ah what if amount' and put this aside meaning any spare can then confidently overpay without fear. Done - £100 for now.
5. Configure my YNAB to match my catergory's in my budget (spreadsheet version) Done
6. Do a budget to include all outgoings, savings targets for the remainder of the year - Add in my debt tracker - Ongoing (but been very thorough)
Hope you all have a fab weekendPoppy19-02-18 Total Debt £30,322

Morning PoppyIts really strange, as i literally budget for pretty much everything i can think of, yet i still fear there is something i have missed so therefore i then get worried that if i overpay something then something will crop up mid month or i have to travel for work stuff so need extra petrol that wasn't budgeted for. So the 'ah what if' is a buffer of ah what if this happens or ah what if i need this. Its weird i know but still like to have that little bit left over once everything is budgeted for and i am still trying to find a comfortable amount, over time this amount will drop and drop until its not longer needed. It just gives me the confidence that if there is £100 tucked away that isn't budgeted for anything then i can actual pay the amounts to bills and overpay debts without fear of needing it further down the line. So its a buffer fund more than anything. My pots are slowly building so hopefully over time this will not exist but it works for me at the moment i guess haha.Have a fab day

thanks for the reply, that actually makes lots of sense and is very sensible, I think I need to do something similar as I tend to keep "finding" other things to pay for rather than using the money as an over payment on my loan.

Thanks Poppy, Probably didn't explain it really well and possibly may not make sense the way i do it to some others haha, but i find at the moment its working for me. Its normally really silly stuff but if i have a little buffer it makes me relax a little more. It seems you are doing really well on your journey so keep up the good work. Are you still finding ways to do gym stuff? and how are you feeling overall in urself0

Thanks Dan rather feel like I'm talking to myself in my diary lol but it keeps me on track if I keep posting.Still gyming it 3 times a week at the moment and really feeling the benefit. Although I think I pulled a muscle in my shoulder on Monday so I'm having a night off tonight. You sound like you're doing well with the exercise.Poppy19-02-18 Total Debt £30,322

Evening All,
Happy weekend to you all, just a quick update - paid another £50 of DT2, slowly getting this cleared. At this stage I will need to make a choice on my next move, i think i will then pay down DT3 (£385) & DT4 (£594) in equal measure.
DT3 is an old phone contract - which has defaulted a while ago
DT4 is for Cabot and is still showing as late payment rather than a default but so far they refuse to accept a payment offer.
If i can clear these quickly that leaves not many left to clear

Morning All,
Hope everyone has a fab Sunday.
Unsure what my day will consist of, I think it will be a relaxed day. I am up way earlier than I thought I would be on my 1st day off haha, but guess my body is used to getting up early. I have decided against the gym for now so need to find a way to keep fit in the meantime. I think I am going to try outdoor running from tomorrow and see if that can keep me fit.
Plan for today
Breakfast
Shower
Catch Up on Diaries
Catch up on my you-tubers I normally watch
Possibly watch some other channels that I don’t normally see on my sky hahaha.

Hey All,
Hope everyone is doing okay, not much happening really MSE wise. I have had to finally buy new wheels for the car - they have been saved up for a while due to destroying the last lot on a trip to Scotland I had planned to get new ones in preparation for out trip up there in a few weeks...sods law means actually probably not going to get up there anyway due to current situation.
In other news today been a bit of a crappy day tbh, my partner thinks I am not taking the current situation serious enough and its becoming a little bit of cause of friction and no matter what I say I am now not a nice person, she thinks I should be taking it way more serious than I am and also now thinks I am not supporting her views, so yeah not ideal. I now feel meh, its not that am not worried but at present I have to just keep doing as I am and been more conscious of what I am doing but it is clear we aren't going to agree...oh the joys!
Hope everyone is taking care
