Morning All,
Hope everyone has a good weekend and stays safe.
Another day in the office but only two staff in today so should hopefully be a little less hectic in here hehe. Here is hoping for a nice steady shift, going to try catch up on diaries (although i have been keeping updated in the background). I need to look through my YNAB and allocate spare funds to some categories. I will probably allocate these into some savings or possibly overpay on some debt as i have already put £100 into emergency fund so we shall see.

I wish I'd known that staying in and being dull saved so much money. Plus the number of ways not to be dull is increasing - I'm loving all the web-conference socialising.
It looks like you are doing very well with your budget and planning. I would be tempted to go half and half with your spare cash between emergency fund and other priorities - as many people and many businesses have found out an emergency is always just round the cornerI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

haha yeah i think the enforced staying in defo helps the bank balance!
I think you are right, I am getting to a stage where the budget is looking good and I can see the benefits of things been done the way I am. I am going to put another £50 to emergency fund. If i can keep building this up slowly then i will be very happy.1 -
I guess you are saving a lot of money on not watching the football - I really don't think there will be another match played before the end of the season. Liverpool should be awarded the title, but there will be a lot of people (red or not) for whom that won't be good enoughI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

haha yeah I am indeed saving plenty with no sport on at all!, not only on going to games but on a saving on my sports package to at the minute so can not grumble too much. I do agree that we somehow (if possible) need to find a way to end this season correctly, cancelling this season and starting fresh in August does not sit well at all. I think if anything this season must finish before a new one starts, i guess its a different situation to anything we have really experienced.
Whilst i do understand the massive suffering that is happening, its been really nice to actually get some proper family time together and although i still do have to work the time at home with the girls is welcomed (even if the circumstances it has happened aren't). It has really given me a perspective that we need to spend more time together as a unit.
I really hope you and the family are managing to stay safe.1 -
Evening All,
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Last shift today so now got four days off which are just going to be spent with the family trying to make the best of the situation. Everything ticking along nice with the payments that have now all come out, not much really exciting happening but i guess now everything is flowing forward so everything has just become the normal.
Work wise things have kinda changed, I have discussed with my manager my concerns around how the work environment is not ideal given the current world events and that the amount of people flooding in and out of the office is giving me serious anxiety surrounding bringing it home to the two girls, who are both considered a risk. My partner has severe asthma and the little one has a weakened immune system so getting infected could impact her more and given she has just had chicken pox, then scarlett fever i don't want her ill again. The end result is rather than doing days i will be doing permanent night shifts for a while. Whilst i am still having to go in there will only be two ppl in the large office instead of the 9 or 10 i am currently seeing on days, i understand this doesnt make me immune from getting it but it certainly lowers the risk and i won't have to deal with people that come to the office on visits or do security duties as much like handing out keys and stuff.
Hope everyone is keeping as well as possible2 -
Dan the man! How are you bud?I found your diary and have just spent an hour reading through it all. You are smashing it! Lots of it was like reading my own diary. Keep up the good work fella.I’ve got my eye on you now 😜
