I'll be here cheering with you when it's gone like you were for me
Thank you :) the support is very much needed right now. I feel like the progress (if it can even be called that) as slowed right down.

Hope little one isn't feeling too bad with the chicken pox. Not long until DT2 is gone, great news! x
Thank you Dancing, the little one is fine in herself just wants to go back to her normal routine the poor thing. I am hoping DT2 is gone in a few weeks, progress is slow as i do have other expenses that unfortunately need to be paid out 1st that just were poorly planned on my part lol x

Wow- the gym this morning was not fun!. I missed a few days last week due to lil one not been well and me just in general been so tired from the overtime

In budget news - I think i need to literally redo certain parts of my budget to account for a few changes - Wage increase slightly, direct debit dates been adjusted, different amounts for certain things so decided will do a new budget. I don't want to change to much as what i am doing as worked so well, just need to look at the amounts and with using YNAB i need to re work a few things.

I will be looking to make a further payment to DT2 later (more likely 2moro haha) but that should bring it down to £100.

Okay - plan of action is to re-jig budget and YNAB - also to work out and redo Monzo saving pots.  I need to get into a place where I am committing fully to my own targets and i think my budget is okay at the minute but i am still 'storing' what if money rather than been fully confident i can make the money i have budgeted last. Like this month there is enough in all pots to cover everything and an £100 buffer as well which is plenty. This leaves me a spare amount that i could pay to debt but i still think ah but what if! And this is setting me back - so this is the time to re-focus. The debt is still coming down and that is a positive and there is no new debt, all utilities are up to date. I am in such a better position for having this journey / diary. I just need to now take a check and re-think my plan.

    Plan
    1. Check all accounts for any direct debits that are no longer relevant and cancel.
    2. List all current direct debits and align any dates that need adjusting
    3. Set up standing orders to go from my wages account into the monzo pots.
    4. Work out a 'ah what if amount' and put this aside meaning any spare can then confidently overpay without fear.
    5. Configure my YNAB to match my catergory's in my budget (spreadsheet version)
    6. Do a budget to include all outgoings, savings targets for the remainder of the year - Add in my debt tracker

    7. Get my head back into focus and shift this debt

    Short term goals :
    1. Clear 1k debt ASAP
    2. Build a £500 emergency fund and then keep adding to it.
    3. Try find somewhere in the budget to save for a cheap holiday ( I know i should not be doing this when in debt but we have not had a proper time away for ages, so need to find a way but not been in debt)

Sorry for the long post (if you got this far). Time to do this!

Wooo check you! Bet you wouldn't have thought that was achievable when you started your diary

    Hey,

Finally the weekend!...just the small matter of 5 hours more of my night shift to complete. The little one has finally recovered enough to go about her usual stuff again, she was gutted she missed school world book day. She has got 2 drama performances tomorrow though so she is properly excited for these, she is doing 'Frozen' then also in the evening she is doing 'Annie' which should take up most of our Saturday. I am thinking of taking her out on Sunday...she has asked for a daddy/daughter date hahaha where do they get this stuff! she is some character, but we have hardly seen each other much due to work commitments of mine so its a lunch date with cinema so that should be nice :).

    Plan updates:
    1. Check all accounts for any direct debits that are no longer relevant and cancel.  Done
    2. List all current direct debits and align any dates that need adjusting Done
    3. Set up standing orders to go from my wages account into the monzo pots.
    4. Work out a 'ah what if amount' and put this aside meaning any spare can then confidently overpay without fear. Done - £100 for now.
    5. Configure my YNAB to match my catergory's in my budget (spreadsheet version) Done
    6. Do a budget to include all outgoings, savings targets for the remainder of the year - Add in my debt tracker - Ongoing (but been very thorough)

Hope you all have a fab weekend

Thanx Mark. Yes the plan is holding water really well. I am aware though that the debt isn't coming down quick enough at the moment, I do have a very tight month this month due to a few purchases - plus Car Ins. renewal so payments aren't as high as i would have wished. However I have re-worked alot of the budget and things will not be too bad. I am glad I am in a position of having to not worry about the main bills being paid though. When i look back to this time last year i had council tax debt piling up, electricity debt piling up - owed Mum nearly 1k in addition to other many things. I am really proud of how far i have come but i am also so aware that i am not anywhere near finished and still the urge to spend sometimes is still there, even though not at anywhere near the rate it used to be.

Well, them days off flew by! Back to work tomorrow - get a little lay-in though as I am in meetings all day with a client site visit so that should be interesting  I will probably still be up and about early though as I will take opportunity to go to the gym on route. My days off been pretty chilled - caught up with some tv and spent loads of time with the little one. Her drama show on Saturday was amazing and the standards of some of the older drama students was superb. I really want to take little one to some more theatre as she loves the music / dancing stuff. She also did her trial ballet lesson today and loved it so that is something I need to try create room in the budget it for haha...I don't mind though I love her getting to experience new things.

Not really much happening budget wise. Hope everyone having a good week so far :)
