    Afternoon all,

Well, that 4 days off went by way to quick! Loved the extra hour in bed though haha. Last clock change back i was working nights and although it was only 1 extra hour it certainly dragged.

Not done loads on days off. Footy with the lads yesterday and soft play and board gmaes with the little one.

Payday came early again :). I need to look through my targets and see where we are at. I am keeping going til the end of the year and in new year i need a review of everything and keeping track of stuff but for now what i am doing is working i guess.

LSD today had to buy milk for work :) also petrol for the week. My monthly debt payments have yet to come out but here's 1 update I have been waiting for....

MUM DEBT IS CLEARED. WOOOOO, THATS FEELS GOOD TO ACTUALLY HIT A TARGET.

    Debts Cleared by December(updated 27/10)

    [STRIKE]Mum - £100 left[/STRIKE] - Cleared 26/10
    [STRIKE]Lowell - £32 left -[/STRIKE] Cleared today
    Debt 3 - £163
    Debt 4 - £250
    Debt - £265

    Paid: £132
    Remaining to pay: 678

Hope the weekend has been kind to you all
  • Hi Dan!

I finally caught up with your diary! :j

You're doing so well! You've paid off so much and reading it from those few months ago to now you can really see where your mindset has changed and how this is affecting your finances and what you want to work towards for you and your family. Very inspiring!

Let us know if you find out anything re doing your GCSE Maths online. I'm terrible at Maths and have been thinking about this myself.

I think the same re the gym, it would definitely help me! I was going to the gym earlier this year and actually really enjoyed it. I need to get back in to parkruns but I'm going to be so busy every weekend up until Christmas I need to try and squeeze it in.

Also I hope everything is ok with your Dad.

Keep going, looking forward to keeping up with your progress!

Hey Welcome TG :)...its mainly a lot of rambling about random stuff haha.

I started my diary as i knew i had to make changes, having this outlet to put things down and keep updating makes me stay on track. The changes in this small amount of time is crazy i never thought it would change around so quick, although still a while to go.

I will defo let you know re maths it is something i have been thinking about a lot, i don't have an amazing job but it does pay well for what i do but i do lots of covering shifts and in general want better for myself.

I can't even begin to think how many posts contain the words ' start the gym' hahaha but i am defo going to i am not very happy with my current fitness levels and general physical health. I do enjoy running too, but i always end up putting it off and trying to convince myself i don't have time in my schedule when its just lazyness :(

Thanks for asking re dad, its very complicated and unfortunately the hospital stay has not changed his ways.

OMG see i told you rambles! lol. :rotfl:

    Evening All,

Not a NSD today but mostly planned spends. We took the little one to cinema today and had food prior to this. Also had to buy a new phone charger ( been meaning to for ages but kept putting it off). Budget is looking good for the month and hoping to overpay a little too.

Got the dreaded MOT end of November so got a little put back from this months wage and also some from November, not sure what to expect with it as I bought car in Feb but seems to have been well looked after and got full service history so serviced well every year so hopefully no shocks! haha.

I was looking at what I have managed to achieve since trying to mend my money ways and I am moving in the right direction

    Paid Off Mum
Got Electric/Gas into a place where its nearly at a 0 balance
Council Tax debt cleared and all up to date
    No more finance on things
Purchased a new sofa with out the need for credit.
Purchased a car (2nd hand ) but still no finance needed.
Plus made a dent in clearing off other debts

If I can keep up with things as they are I will go into the new year with a good stable budget and no arrears on essential bills.

I would really like to learn to cook properly and to start looking after myself better but I am certainly feeling in a better place than 6 months ago that is for sure.

Thank you for all the advice/cheering on :)

    Happy 1st Of November Guys!

    Wow this year is flying.

Not got too much planned for today and good job really as it is so dull and miserable today here. Candles lit and smelling lush and a day just researching xmas gifts I reckon for me :). I am trying to enjoy the few days off I have, got a staff shortage at work so means i am covering a shift every week of my rota through November, going to be tiring but means i will have extra going into my December wage which normally comes just before xmas so I can do the last last minute buys haha.

So today should be a NSD day...here is hoping. :rotfl:

    Have a fab weekend all
  • Hey hey! I missed a lot :D

Well done on getting your mum paid off, that must have felt good, plus all of your other achievements in the past week or so :)

    Hey :)

Yep while you have been away sunning yourself, debt payments have happened hahaha

It is such a good feeling to have cleared the debt to Mum, its taken way longer than it should have done. The reality is this whole budget and getting to grips with everything has taken way too long. If i had got my head out of the sand most of this would have been sorted now, but on to the future we go!

Hopefully i will take a dent out of the debts in next few months and the in the new year some regular monthly payments drop dramatically so this should free up more money to pay off debts

    Evening All,

Not a NSD but only spent 70p on milk so not too bad. Also have everything I need for work lunches too so should be no purchases through the week so really should be NSD week which would be welcome. The CCJ has now marked as settled on my latest credit report :). Will be a pretty steady week as I am working days so not really much time to plan anything else around it haha. Friday will be cleaning day ready for landlord visit to renew tenancy so be glad to get that sorted

Hope you all have a fab week,
