    Hey,

Wow just over 4 months into my journey, by payday i will have the 1st Lowell debt cleared, plus my Mum will be paid off.

I have tweaked budgets slightly so hoping i can pay off a larger chunk than i have been doing which means from Oct/Nov/Dec payments i could possibly have another 1k paid off, plus my Electric and Gas balance by December will be zero! That would be incredible to even think that (we had major issues with this due to redundancy and played catchup ever since) i could not switch due to the debt so just had to stump up what they wanted whilst never really decreasing the debt. Due to my new way of thinking i have been able to overpay like 40 per month which has now caught us up

Yay, so tonight is my Monday is my Friday :rotfl::rotfl: last shift tonight for 4 days, it also means my Saturday will be my Monday :( but focus on the positives they say.

In MSE news all the budgets and pots are filled to last me til the mid month top up of funds and there was enough left over to make another payment to Mum.

    * Mum payment = £175 so this takes the balance down to £100 so on October 28th 2019 i will officially no longer owe Mum any money :T:T. I will update signatures accordingly, seem to be ticking along okay finance wise and by adjusting the budget slightly it improves chances i will not fall flat on my face.
  • Yayyyyyy!! Well done you.

You're gonna feel great when you make that last payment to your MUm next month.

Well done Dan, you're doing so well :)

Thank you both, it will be such a relieve to get my mum paid off, so if I pay what I was going to debt at end of month I should pass the £1.5 paid mark :) Although I am desperately wanting to order new wheels for the car for all the travel north of the border we do at this time of year. I really do not want a repeat of ripping the low profile tires again :rotfl::rotfl: so we shall see

So today as been a relaxing day, slept til about 2pm following my night shift last night (which means i am now wide awake) Today as not been a NSD but the money wasn't budgeted anyways..i borrowed a work colleague money last week for fish and chip Friday so last night i arrived to find a fiver on my desk so that purchased my breakfast(naughty i know)

So my day has consisted of playing xbox and I have spent last few hours completing some job applications. I feel very unfulfiled at my current role there is alot of office politics going off at the moment and makes me a little uncomfortable. Whilst I can do the role very well and its really quite relaxed and well paid for what actually gets done i am looking at a possible change. Although i am a little unsure what to do as i have now settled really well into a routine of the money and job quite secure so not sure i should rock the boat....ADVICE WELCOME!!!

Also whilst completing a job application I had to do a maths thing which has never been my strong point, it made me think i could really open up some options if i resat my maths GCSE, it would need to be online due to work commitments but i guess any chance to improve myself must be a good thing right..does anyone have any experience of online learning and best places?

Well enough rambling for tonight, time for coffee and more fifa haha:rotfl:

    Evening Diary :D

Well that 4 days off flew by!, back to work in the morning and of course I am wide awake haha. Last few days have been really chilled out, the little on had an harvest festival play we went to and then had Halloween disco (well if 50 kids running around and screaming and sliding everywhere is your idea of a disco).

MSE wise not spent much, will need to put £10 in car to get me to work next few days but this is budgeted for, also a direct debit due out nothing major just broadband.

I have worked the figures through until end of year and if there is no major hiccups I will be paying another £750 to the debt which should clear some debts down and mean that in 6 months I will have paid 2K which I think would be amazing for me. I can then in the new year hit it hard.

    Debts Cleared By December

    Mum - £100 left
    Lowell - £32 left
    Debt 3 - £163 cleared
    Debt 4 - £250
    Debt - £265

These above are the ideal targets to get cleared. If I could get these cleared by end of the year I would be really happy with the progress I have made in the debts. Although I see the debt payments as important this short journey so far as taught me so much in regards to budgeting and hopefully I will learn more as the journey goes on

In regards personal goals I have decided that I am going to spend the next few months getting my head down at work and possibly look to start the GCSE maths course, I will then see where that takes me.

So only a few days til payday, we are ending another month where there is more money than month, which is becoming a regular thing now so that is progress. I made a payment to clear one of debts so updated my December Debts clearance below. Its not alot but still counts right haha

    Mum - £100 left
    [STRIKE]Lowell - £32 left -[/STRIKE] Cleared today
    Debt 3 - £163
    Debt 4 - £250
    Debt - £265

    Paid: £32
    Remaining to pay: 778

Not really much going off its just ticking over really, got my days off work and hoping no massive spends. I think i am just going to stay in most of my days off this week, feeling a little under the weather, although do have football with the lads on Saturday, tickets already bought just food and a drink to buy but will only take enough rather than more than i need.

I feel like not really updating this as much as i should be, however i know that wanting to come on here and share every little victory drives me on and keeps in line

Well done 20% down. And it’s a slog but the more you pay off the higher percentage each further quid/tenner/pony/monkey paid off makes.
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

:) slow progress is still progress. Whilst I do want rid of the debt so badly, as part of this process I want to put me and my family on a good financial footing and learning to budget better is part of that. I know that in the new year the budget is getting adjusted to pay more. I just have to hit as much as I can that is good.

If someone would have said I would be where I am now 4 months ago I would have thought they were crazy, this journey as much further to run no doubt about that, but all my direct debits are not failing and I am not sat wishing payday was here already haha.
