    Hi Diary,

Well a busy days at work mean one very tired human lol! Not much changed with debt figures but have not really sat proper and done much with finances last week or so. I have got up, showered, worked, eaten, slept and repeat. I now have 1 day off before overtime shift on Saturday

Weds - Not a NSD as planned, but money spent well. My partner was feeling a bit meh its been a crazy few days so I went to shop on way home from work and bought some alchol she had been eyeing up but didn't want to ruin our budget buying( I had some personal spends so used these) plus flowers. So whilst it wasn't really a NSD it was worth it just to cheer her up a little.

Today - NSD :) I had soup today and bread very boring but did the job. Another crazy day

Now I have a nice beer and watching escape to the country watching people who have crazy amounts of money to spend on crazy priced houses ahha. I will read a few diaries and proper catch up I think later tonight and 2moro.

    Take Care all
  • Morning All,

Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was nice and relaxed mainly except had extra shift to cover YAY! haha, although it meant a No Spend Weekend which can only be a good thing.

Today is house sorting day, if I can find some motivation, worked a lot last few weeks so feeling tired, hoping it will be worth it come pay day.

Balances are not going down but will make overpayment on one of debts later so that should drop that to £100.

    Have a good week all.
  • Hi Dan!
Just caught up. Love your list from the 31st on all the things that have changed since starting your diary, it's amazing how you look back and things have changed, even though you might not realise at the time!

    Hey Travel :)

Yeah, progress as slowed a little this month, trying to save as much as poss due to MOT at end of month, in theory should not be much come up but i can not afford to be without my car so defo need a bit back just in case.

However given everything i have got through so far in last 6-7 months i am really happy with the progress and if i can manage to end the year paying of just over 1600 )which is probably where i will be) then i would be quite content as i have changed my ways hugely since this journey started. Alot of my current monthly costs will also decrease at the start of 2020 so will free up more to attack this so in reality i could be debt free this time next year....hopefully

    Hey All,

Steady progress and not spending money so all good.

Last few days i have found a few youtube videos around budgeting and mindset that i have found interesting, also seen alot regarding YNAB - this looks like a good method but when i tried previously i just didn't get to grips with it....does anyone else use and any tips?. I am defo going to have another look at it i think.

I got confirmation (as expected) that my December pay will be early so got to be wary of that to make sure i do not faulter there.

In other news the CCJ has now marked as settled on my report and another that i have cleared as shown as settled. Whilst i am not too focused on the number/score it is good to see it going up.

    Things to do

    - List the xmas gifts for the remainder of my family
    - Finish my whole year (2020) budget and set my savings goals

I just googled things if I couldn't work them out on YNAB, there are quite a lot of useful articles and videos out there :D

I may try and save up to buy it again, it definitely changes the way you think about money! X

I have got the trial and I do like the way it works and the principal behind it, still need to get to grips with some aspects of it and how it works with some things but I can defo see why it works for people. I will keep seeing how it goes I think and take it from there :)

Hey All, well those days off went quick haha.

Hope everyone doing well. I have felt like although i am still budgeting in my mind it has felt a bit weird as not making many overpayments so feels like very slow progress, I guess now the mad panic side of things as passed its just trying to keep motivated.

I think I just want to get the new year here when I can adjust a few things and start making a bigger dent into things. Earlier I felt a bit meh that one of debts I wanted is not yet cleared, I read through diary and saw actually where I am now is in a good place and try not to get too downbeat.

I also need to try and get my diary updated more, at least want to try update daily as this keeps me honest

Well 2morrow is my Monday :rotfl: and I have 60 hours to work between then and Saturday  Hope everyone has a good week

    Morning Diary,

Yesterday was a very cold day brrrrrrrrrr got in car for work to see the temp reading -4  thankfully car as heated screens so no de-icing just able to let car run for 10 mins and clears so all good. Does feel not as cold this morning.

NSD - plus finally got the credit on the electric that's been missing ages, so that now means the by the time I have reached the next bill I will be in credit by 200 :O. I have been on a plan to pay off debt and getting anywhere near zero balance always felt impossible but here we are. I am now in a position to drop the direct debit back to a normal amount or just let it run til Jan when the next bill is due. Unsure what to do as been in credit would feel amazing and would give head start on jan bill, but could also do with the money I would save now haha

In bad car news the car as developed a slight knocking noise when setting off, weirdly it is not all the time and is mainly when cold, also I think I need to get the wheels aligned. MOT is in a few weeks so could really do without any added expenses. A quick internet search brings up everything ranging from a wearing bush to a worn clutch....great :rotfl: I did have loads of bits rattling around in boot so I have removed all those to eliminate that

Anyhow, the work day calls yay! Super busy day yesterday where I also decided whilst emptying the printer toner that I would get it everywhere:rotfl::rotfl: and boy did I get it everywhere..hands,face,kitchen floor, sink, walls, fridge hahaha never trying to be helpful again.

    Have a great days all.

    Hey all,

So we are nearing the end of another month, still got funds in my account. The funds remaining seem to be getting higher and higher each month so that is a positive and means I am getting closer to how I would like it, however I am feeling not as good this month as I have not over paid anything to outstanding debt. I have the funds but due to MOT been next week I want to ensure i have additional funds just in case anything unexpected comes up. I know that there seems to be an issue with the brake piston sticking which whilst not expensive will need doing i would think to get through MOT. If it gets through without any major hiccup the £200 i have saved will then go straight to paying off debts which will clear the remainder of one and part of another

December is a busy month too we have a few events that are mostly already budgeted but i have 11 days off work at beginning of December so will probs spend money there haha. We also have my Daughters birthday, my birthday, my brothers birthday and i am taking mrs to see Michael Buble as part of her xmas gift in early December ( bought tickets ages ago)

Overall the last 6 months have gone really well and i am super happy with the progress and i laid the foundation to setup the finances for next year. Although i still do feel gutted that i am not probably going to reach my goals i had set out when i started this journey i will still have paid off 1.5k in six months.
