  • Hiya :hello:

Sorry I've not caught up for a while, I'm slacking :rotfl:

£1.7k paid since you started your diary is AMAZING, don't downplay how good that is :D

I also am a fan of a good spreadsheet ;) but contemplating treating myself to YNAB when the new year rolls around :)

    Hey :j

Thank you, sometimes its too easy for me to be negative I think, progress has been really good.

I really can see why people are YNAB converts its really good and I can defo see it been something I could make really good use of, just unsure on paying for it..maybe in the new year I could do so. My spreadsheet does work quite well at the moment but YNAB makes it so easy :rotfl:

    Happy Tuesday All,

Well MOT didn't pass with flying colours, but was pretty good considering i figured brake would need looking at so had already though it would fail. So its now in getting worked on so will be sorted by later today. The costs are never ideal this close to xmas , however it wasn't panic stations like it has been previously, I haven't needed to miss a priority bill or anything else to enable me to pay for it. The fact I was able to just transfer the little bit from budget to cover it makes life much less stressful, no worrying how I get to work until I can afford to save for car repairs.

The above indicates that although I am only 6 months into my 'new money ways' that the work I am doing is working. I will also now have money spare to pay a little to debt and buy some xmas stuff due to over estimating how much money I would need to get it through the MOT so all good :)
  • See - look at that progress between how you managed it now, and how you would have before, awesome stuff :D

And relax...what a day hahaha, covered an extra shift today and could not have picked a busier day. In better news though I now have 10 days off yay :). Its time to spend some much needed time to recover and spend some time with my family. This last few months have just been crazy and just feels like we have spent hardly no time together. We do have a few family days planned though so that is good.

Not much MSE wise, my Credit score (for what its worth) is going up :).

    Things to Do:

    * Get last few xmas stuff sorted
    * Shopping On Friday
    * Pre-book parking for Michael Buble on Friday
    * Purchase Wrapping paper and xmas cards

Hope everyone's week is going good
  • Hey hey :hello:

Very jealous of 10 days off and Michael Buble ;rotfl: hope you enjoy!

your 10 days off are probably Buble's 10 days on - he only does the xmas shift since he made it so big - very MSE
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

    Hey All,

Hope everyone's weekend has been a good one. I have had a busy but fab weekend, although a bit spendy but most of it has been budgeted for well in advance.

Friday - Went to the Michael Buble concert which was amazing, infact i would go as far to say he is probably the best live act i have seen. Well worth the money, he was funny, entertaining and gave a fab performance. It was really enjoyable, although we spent money on food, drinks and a programme (which prices were shocking haha) however it was a once in life thing for my Mrs so wanted to get her something she could put in a memories album :).

Saturday - We went into little one's drama performance then went and had lunch and did a little xmas shopping. Then I spent the rest of it glued to sport (oops...), with a few beers and junk food!

Today - Did a little shop and spent some time with my parents and sister, plus a visit from my nan and grandad. Now time to chill and catch up on a few diaries

Overall a spendy weekend which i must admit is very rare now, however i was determined we would enjoy the gig without worrying over money (i know not very MSE, however was all already in budget). It made me realise that we really don't spend enough time out as a couple and it was nice to just enjoy been adults again rather than mummy and daddy...i know that sounds selfish but sometimes its just nice. It made me determined to get out of debt so we as a family can start enjoying stuff without the guilt or worry of debt.

  • Happy Wednesday All,

Busy few days, not massively expensive though so can not grumble too much :)

Yesterday was a bit crazy as it was the little ones birthday so was lots of fun/games and cake...lots of cake haha. We took her to cinema on Monday night to watch Frozen 2 and she loved that so not too much spent. Also had football yesterday night so just had to put a little petrol money in car for travel….which was mostly spent in the most frustrating traffic, I am sure that the rain and wind just fetch out the crazy drivers.

I also spoke to energy supplier to try and get direct debit adjusted and it just felt like they were not listening at all. The direct debit has been horrendously high due to the debt (some of which I don’t believe to be my fault) but now the balance is literally in a position where if I pay my next two payments as scheduled it will put me £210 in credit yet they still insist I can not decrease direct debit as the balance on my account is not a true reflection and that I am still classed as in debt. How is this even possible??? She stated the balance I see on my account is not a true balance. I do not get this at all. So my plan is to look into changing supplier, I am really annoyed as I have overpaid like mad thinking light at end of tunnel is that it will lower once debt was cleared but after speaking with them it seems like this will not drop anywhere near what I though.

Xmas is kinda stressing me a tiny little bit too now, I know what I am planning to get people and I am chipping away what I can, however I am now not really in a place to buy as much as I normally would for close family...they don’t really know the whole debt thing. Also feel like I am cutting it fine, ideally all would be done now but still got a few gifts to get that I can not get til the 19th when I get paid so getting worried that is too close for comfort. Plus I really struggle with dad and step mum as they never really say thank you and then moan later in year they haven’t used the ‘useless’ stuff they got.

Grrr I hate my moany/negative posts...but the diary lets me moan without getting angry with people RL hahaha lets me just moan to my computer screen! I know what I am doing is the right way to go and I know next year I will really feel the benefits but right now I just feel so unorganised.

Time to catch up on diaries.

    Todays Plan:

    - Research possibly energy swap (even though EON say it would be pointless to do so right now) Do any people pay on receipt of bill anymore? And if so do you feel any benefit to this?

    - Plan how I intend to budget even to pay Car Insurance in full this time around.

    - Sort contents insurance out (don’t even know where to start) I can hear the screams of MSERS every where haha..its weird I have never even thought or considered this as normally just replace broken stuff as and when. Anyone know best place to look or what price is roughly about right.

I will try update later...hopefully a more positive post will follow ha. Have a great day all.
