Massive well done on the electric and gas front! And same with the other goals you've reached. All these small things add up, right? You're doing great and I'm happy to see it0

Thank you, the wins are getting less haha but things are going well ( I will not say smoothly as that will curse me :rotfl:) but I finally feel like I am getting a grip of things.
I had a bit of a wobble yesterday as I feared I was focusing on debt payments to the extent I resented spending any single penny on enjoying myself so feel like I somehow need to rein that in a bit. It made me feel crap, but also showed me that I need to get this debt paid.
I know its probably not a good thing to do...BUT I did an SOA based on what my outgoings would be if the electric/Gas & council tax was at the normal rate..plus if I didn't pay car costs monthly the difference is HUGE...even with the debt payments we would be comfortable to be able to start saving for the future and maybe even have a family holiday. This has given me the focus to really crackdown.
Have a good Sunday everyone0 -
Sounds like we've got the same future focus Dan, definitely needed when the debt busting reaches a plateau (I definitely had this in August). Great result on all your DIrect Debits being paid on time, it shows your budgeting is working now it's about maintaining balance and focus. You've got this0

Thank you Dancing
it would deffo seem we do. It is nice to have nice things(everyone deserves a treat every now and then haha) but I want to create memories that we can treasure as a family. I have always wanted to travel and never really had the chance (more likely funds haha)

Yes, it's a fine balance between paying off your debt and not punishing yourself for it. I've been spending more than usual as of late and it's really bothering me, especially after my holiday. This debt situation just looms over you, doesn't it?
You'll get there and you're doing so well, alreadyonwards and upwards, eh!

well done Dan - if I look back my one regret is that I didn't go harder earlier and longer on debt busting - you have to judge when its too painful and ease off a bit but don't then go slack for too longI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
Well today marks achieving the 1st goal, just over 3 months into my diary and i have passed the 1k mark! Yay, yesterday i paid another £75 off mum debt target so that is nearing paid off at last. Finally feels like progress. Also means that when I make the min payments on payday my debt will sneak below 5k
Yesterday was a chilled day and then took little one to Soft play and had a family meal as a treat ( a rare treat haha).

Well back to work it is!. Today as been a bit of a meh day, feel really under the weather and tired even though slept quite a bit yesterday. Also had to take Dad back to hospital as he had high blood pressure...turns out he missed his meds! Sounds like nothing major this time but another worry i didn't need, bit annoyed as had no contact for a few weeks asking how their grand-daughter is doing but as usual as soon as they want/need something they get in touch.
Today seems a good day to reflect on how far i have come on this short journey (probs seems minimal to most but shows i am making gradual changes) Seeing this list and also how in control finances seem at the moment make me question why did it take so long.
- Paid council tax arrers in full
-Paid 50% off what i owe mum ( didn't pay for a while)
-Overpaid Gas And Electric to clear debt which will mean by next bill it will be a clean slate - -Zero balance (1st time in 2 and half years...i know!)
-Not missed any direct debits
-cut out the massive amount i was spending on C*sta
-By end of payday i will have cleared the CCJ & another debt.
- NOT ADDED ANY MORE CREDIT
I am probably a little bit too over excited about the above but after struggling for so long and many budgets i am so happy that i have stuck to one budget and had the willpower and commitment to stick to it.
PS - Also really shocked at how much surveys + product testing as got me vouchers for to put towards xmas which has helped so much
Here is to the next 3 months - I really need to get back into fitness i went jogging for 1st time in ages other day! Wow what a experience that was:rotfl::rotfl:0
