  • Another month where i have got to payday in credit. This is only £20 but it will go to overpay a debt as it isn't in the budget for this month.

Another boring night shift to contend with so i am going to check over the October budget, but everything seems like should be okay this month too. Its starting to feel like a routine now and i am not having to decide which bill gets missed each month.

There is an Halloween party to factor in plus a trip to Scotland to visit my partners family, so will need to factor in for petrol money towards end of October.

I am also going to try catch up on some diaries too.
  • Congratulations on the progress. It's good you have these things coming up in October, in a way! 1, to enjoy life and 2, to see how much progress you've made in budgeting etc by being tested.

I've never been to Scotland but really want to go! Haha.

    Thank you :)

Yeah I like to know I do have plans most days which isn't always that moneysaving haha. The budgeting is going well, still a few hiccups but overall I am making good progress, but I still think I could pay quicker if I cut out all the living life stuff

Scotland is lovely I want to explore so many more places there, not so keen on the temps though
  • Hey All,

Hope the weekend has been good for you all. Last night was my last night shift so now got 4 days off. Today has just been a chill out day, i had wanted to clear garage but we have had so much rain i didn't fancy it haha.

Most of min payments have come out so updated signature to reflect the changes to overall balance/paid...so nearly at the 5k mark. I will be making overpayment to debt payment 1 in next few days, the balance is £33 so this will take me under 5k. I will then clear the remaining £28.15 on the CCJ debt so hopefully that will show satisifed on my credit report within a few months.

I will need to look at where i am going to allocate the monthly payments i have been making to Debt 1 And the CCJ. I am going to update my debts owed list later with current balances and track from end of October. I am unsure if i should just agree token payments with all creditors so all balances are coming down or just pay off one at a time.
  • Soooo whilst i was just about to make the final payment of £32 to lowell to clear balance, i wanted to search for the email they sent agreeing the reduced settlement so I could print and keep just in case someone else tries to claim any other amounts (can this even happen) Anyhow I came across an email sent last year from them to offer me a reduced payment plan that stated as It was over 6 years old it wasn't on report, I am a little frustrated as I could have drawn out paying it longer and prioritised CCJ if id known it wasn't even on report. The default was over 6 years ago so obviously gone off report, if I pay this will it then reappear on report and reflect all the payment history and start the 6 year before it goes off report again???

I figured that instead of paying the £32 to Lowell for something that isn't actually affecting anything I would transfer the final £28.15 to Moriaty to clear the CCJ...ITS OFFICAL I NO LONGER OWE ANY MONEY ON THE CCJ IT IS CLEARED.:T:T:j Wow that will hopefully update in 28 days I think the company said the other day when I queried getting confirmation that its is paid in full.
  • Aw that is annoying isn't it.

You are doing so well though so remember that!

Nope - it's off for good now if the default was over 6 years old :) x

Thank you Dolly, yeah i was annoyed as I could have focused on other debt first, but I guess the positive is that I only have one payment left to clear the Lowell debt and its not a huge sum so that will go at some point this month :)

How is it October already! All debt payments have now cleared, so the balances will now only decrease with some overpayments which i hope to make a few though the month.

Overall September was a really good month spends wise and well on track with budget working, I am slightly conscious that I am not really tracking spends as much as I should be and that needs to change. In the coming months it will get easier as my monthly outgoings drop, I need to focus more on this.

I also think I need to go back to writing lists of my targets and need to really focus on both financial targets and personal targets. I feel like I neglect my diary a little sometimes and need to get back on track as this diary really helps me focus. I do not want to slip into thinking I am doing well and then drifting back into old habits. This diary has given me a way to put down my goals and focus.

    October Targets

    - Drink more water - my water intake is no where near enough (its pretty much non-existent) and I am certainly feeling it. I don't know if its related but I am feeling so much more tired recently.

    - Exercise more - I planned to sign up for local gym that is on route to work, I think I need to nail down a proper routine before I consider this as I know I wouldn't use it much yet. So I have a cycle bike we bought ages ago which is going to be used for now

    - Read more, less technology - I really need to think of just how much I am on my phone/laptop. Whilst I love my tech stuff I think I find it difficult to wind down/relax.

There is loads I think I could do to improve how I am feeling and also financially. I think I need to look into doing a proper meal plan both for work and when I am at home. Whilst food spends are not crazy, they could be better in terms of value for money.

Back to work tomorrow. Due to the crap rain we have had I haven't managed to do what i had planned with my days but unless the work fairy drops by they will still be there next week :rotfl:so plan for rest of night is to get my work stuff ready, make up my lunch for tomorrow and early night. Hopefully by prepping everything it means I get up and can have a proper breakfast as I won't have to make lunch and get clothes ready.

    No more rambling! haha.

Just wanted to also say thanks to everyone that pops in with encouragement and advice it really has helped keep me motivated.
