Determed To Do It

  • Sorry you feel like you are talking to yourself. I read along, but often don't feel like I have much to contribute.

If you can get 2 debts paid off in a couple of months, then snowball the money - that's going to have a massive impact on dt4 isn't it?

Keep going and I hope the move is smooth.

I’m definitely cheering you on, the last few days I’ve been catching up on diaries but struggling to string a sentence together but you’re doing great :) x

It was only a light-hearted comment but thank you both :D

Yes, by the time I get to DT4 there will be an extra £80 per month to add to the monthly payment, then whatever extra I get to overpay/clear it.

Money came in from the online work today, DT1 is now GONE :D

Physio appointment is booked for Monday 10am :D

Money transferred for my car pot for next year, 9% of the way there according to Monzo :D

    Happy Friday indeed :j :j :j

    Definitely :D

This time next month I should be paying off debt 2 and 3 as a minimum, 4 is around the same size as all of the others and then they start to jump up a bit but at that point my money freed up from paying off the other dates should mean I can still snowball relatively quickly! Then obviously I can pay extra from my other jobs, too :D

Hey :) Wooooooooo fab to see the signature update! Well done on getting that paid off and moving on to you next target. Cheering you on and glad that the online work is helping a lot. These debts will be busted in no time at all.

    Thanks Dan :D here's hoping!
  • Broadband provider contact and told about the move in a couple of weeks (This time in two weeks, we will be moved in - and probably fast asleep :rotfl:) and redirect all set up for the both of us, that's all my advance admin things done before the move

Struggling to get hold of boxes for packing, both of the shops I have been to don't keep them long enough to give them out to people, but I'll keep trying. OH should be getting some from work when they get some good size ones. Can't bring myself to pay anything for pieces of cardboard to move things in!

A few hours at work today, then came home and chilled before doing the food shopping. We are trying to run our food stores down, so the money I didn't spend on our food I bought some bits to donate to the food bank that we are collecting for at my weekend job. I took what we had from our cupboards and have topped up the carrier bag with some cheap bits from the shops.

We will need a few small bits when moving into the new house - bath mats, storage boxes, etc so I have my basket all ready for Matalan - I have a 15% off voucher and will have enough personal spends to easily afford them next month.

Very short shift at work tomorrow, late enough for me to have a lay in, which is always nice. I did quite a bit of housework this morning before work - if I can keep on top of the cleaning up until we move, the deep clean shouldn't need to be so aggressive. Anyway, as I cleaned loads, all I need to do tomorrow evening is the ironing. Other than that - an evening to relax.... :)
  • Well, Monday has inevitably rolled around once again. I am looking forward to next week as I am only working Monday-Wednesday at my main job, and Sunday at the weekend job, so I will get some needed rest amongst the packing and moving house.

Back from my physio initial appointment, the usual run-through of what happened, how long, symptoms, etc and a few exercises to try and report back at the next appointment in a few weeks, so we shall see how it all goes.

Budget still going fine, all bills have completely gone out for the month now.

I am in the process of doing some deep cleaning here and there on bad bits in various rooms in the mindset that there won't be as much to do on the final day as long as it is kept on top of.

If my online work continues as it is for the rest of the month, there will be no problems with clearing DT2, DT3, and paying some small sums into my HTB ISA, EF, and car pot for next year :)

Love how you got a refurbed car stereo. I am not that handy, but got mum and dad to give me a halfords voucher for Xmas and then waited for the one I wanted to go a third off. They don't like giving cash for Xmas so I normally ask for vouchers for something specific.

It was only the fact it came with a few month's warranty that convinced me, otherwise I'd have been panicking I'd get one that wasn't working properly :rotfl: that's a good idea with the vouchers, my dad always does the same and just asks which vouchers would be useful for me :D
  • I cannot believe that it is only Tuesday - I am looking forward to an early night tonight after getting a bit more packing done. Most of my clothes are packed up now that I won't use, and our bubble wrap arrived yesterday (happily, in another cardboard box that we can use :rotfl:) so I can get some of the more fragile stuff away. I want to try and get our toiletries sorted out tonight, too, and only leave out what we will be needing in the next 10 days.

I was very proud of OH he has gone through his massive amount of suits and set aside the ones that he wants to keep, and sorted out loads of clothes that he doesn't think he should take when we move. My job on my lunch break today is to go to the charity shop in town and pick up a load of bags for us to fill up. We both did this before we moved in together, so lord knows where it has all come from :rotfl:

OH treated us to a Chinese last night, I have got leftovers for my lunch at work today :D

Plodding along with most other things at the moment, I get paid from my part time job in 10 days, my full time job in 15 days, and again from the online work in just under a month. It's actually quite nice having everything a little spread out. I know that £200 from my part time job goes straight to OH, my full time wage covers my bills and regular debt payments, and the online work money is used for debt overpayments and payments into savings accounts. I think if the part time money and full time money didn't cover their respective roles it would be more complicated, but as it stands it all works out very nicely.

    To do today:
    - pick up charity bags to fill and return
    - return library books if I have my library card with me
    - continue packing!

    :D
