  • Hope the move goes smoothly for you. You sound like you've been amazingly productive.
I can't believe how fast u have gone from being not sure where you would be living to been fully prepared...way to go!! You certainly know how to get stuff done once you set your mind to it.

Thank you both :o it is one of the rare times my stubbornness comes in handy :rotfl:

    Today I have:

    - met some family for lunch
    - taken one bag of rubbish to the tip (there will be more but I got about two minutes notice that the family were leaving, so I had to, too :rotfl: )
    - been to Matalan and picked up all the items I wanted as online next day delivery was apparently "currently unavailable at this time". That was great fun lugging lots of items around the shop and to my car :rotfl: I put most of it in the laundry basket I was buying and wheeled a basket around with the rest :rotfl:
    - went to Wilko and got a long handled duster (just reading through my last post now, forgot to look for ice cube trays)
    - put two items on facebook for free that I don't want to take with us, one item is being collected tomorrow
    - washed two loads of washing and put them out to dry in the sunshine

That's quite enough for one day off, so I am currently pondering what to do with myself as the sun is shining, but I literally know no-one around here. I'm sure I'll come up with something!

    Tomorrow I plan to:

    - Clean the house as much as I can (thankfully it is due to be cooler)
    - take bags of clothing to the charity shop a few towns over (hold that thought....there's one in the town where OH works... may need to flutter my eyelashes as I've done lots of errands today...)
    -
  • Well - it's all basically done! OH has to finish unpacking his clothes but that's about it, we are all moved in and settled. Although, it certainly doesn't feel like I had any time off! And I don't want to see another cardboard box for a very long time :rotfl:

Saturday was a mix of packing the last bits, loading, unloading, unpacking the main stuff, waiting for the fridge and then going off to find curtains for the bedrooms and the lounge. I picked up a blind for the kitchen yesterday, so we are all sorted. Yesterday was mostly unpacking the last few boxes, and I sorted out clothes and put them away until I was tired and told OH he could do the rest on his day off today. Oh, and tinkering with the heating and hot water timers to get everything running the way we like it.

Today's stuff whilst at work is mostly going to be updating addresses and the like.

That truly was a stressful weekend but we are through the worst of it now :D we also have our internet getting set up today so there will be fewer complaints of boredom from the children, and then they go back home tomorrow morning so I will be able to unwind in our new home properly tomorrow :rotfl:

£28ish overpayment made to DT2 this morning, nearly 20% from overpayments, then it'll get paid down more with the direct debit when I get paid from the full time job, then cleared completely alongside DT3 with my online work money in a couple of weeks :)

    Happy Monday guys! :j
  • Wow, that's amazing work, I hope you get a rest at some point soon. Can't wait to see dt2 & 3 bite the dust. How many debts are there in total?

Nice to read that the move went without any major hiccups, must have been all the planning before hand that worked :) Hopefully will not take you too long for it to feel like home

Good work with the overpayments too, the debt is moving you must be so happy with progress you are making
  • Happy new home!

11 I think, all but one under £1k and most under £500 just a fair few little fiddly bits. 2 are accounts that defaulted a few years ago and just get paid £5 a month that I know I can get settlements for less than 50%, so in no rush to tackle those until right at the end :)

Tonight will be my first night to unwind in the new house! OH is at work until late, so I am going to take advantage of the time to myself and do the roots of my hair, tint my eyebrows, and enjoy a nice soak in the tub!

Payday from full time job tomorrow, need to ping the money around to various places for fuel, groceries, money to OH for the purchases I got for the house, etc. Then the third payday in two weeks which will be pinged around for savings and debt clearances!

All of the clothes in the house are finally unpacked, I need to get a couple of household bits today, namely a new mop head (a whole £1.75) and a dustpan and brush - I knocked one of our lovely new wine glasses off of the side this morning whilst half asleep and filling up the kettle, OH packed the brush from our set but not the other part!!! That'll teach me for leaving washing up for the morning :wall: .

OH got a smallish PPI refund through the other day from one of his bank accounts, I think he only paid about 40p per month but the account is over 20 years old so the interest on the charges soon added up! Anyway, he has paid for a year in full for the gym literally 5 minutes walk from the house, which is also owned by the branch of my old gym, so I have just transferred over to that site. We are going to start going there together rather than lazing in front of the TV!

I am actually quite grateful to be back at work, just because I'm back in a routine now. It all got a bit chaotic and all over the place over the weekend and I like a little bit of order and simplicity in my life :rotfl:

Oh - when I get the money for my online work, I'm also going to work on some Matched Betting again. It's a good earner, but I always ended up needing the money for something else after a week or so. The money I need to set aside for tax is money I don't need to touch for anything as I have my budget all set up and will have savings, so will be using that to earn some extra money. I'll just keep a note of what the amount of money should be for my SE tax, and withdraw the earnings now and then to overpay some debts.
  • Full time payday report:

    - £55 paid to DT2 (combination of usual payment and snowballed payment from DT1)
    - Money shuffled around for groceries and fuel
    - OH repaid for my household purchases

That's pretty much it, the other direct debits will take care of themselves until I get paid again on the 14th, and can crack on with the other bits and pieces.

I need to phone up one DD as I didn't realise it came from my card number and not my account, so will do that shortly to avoid any aggro, and make sure the card number gets updated.

OH and I are off to the gym together tonight, I am looking forward to getting back into it, and seriously have no excuse when it's literally around the corner.

Hope everyone is enjoying their paydays and debt-busting, I will aim to catch up on diaries tomorrow, it's been a bit manic in SSDD world lately :rotfl:
  • How's your foot doing these days? You've gone quiet about it, so I'm hoping it's been much better.

(Great money shuffled though- I can't wait until the morning to do mine!)
