I ordered some trainers
They are coming tomorrow, paid £15 today which will be covered by a race entry that is being purchased from me as I can no longer do it, and then three more payments of £15, no credit, no interest, just spreading the payments (I'll undoubtedly clear it within a few weeks anyway)
The backs are literally falling off of the back of mine and I know I find Adidas comfy and easy to drive in0 -
Yay to the trainers
sometimes it is nice to treat yourself and they will last you and sounds like they were defo needed.
Enjoy the flowerseven if they are self bought treat, hopefully you and the OH will be friends by the time we get your morning update!.
:TOoo how good it must feel to be able to buy the Bday gift and it not still be paying for it long after the event, you should be proud of how far you have come, he will love the I-pad. They are expensive tech but i am the same i love my tech so always wanna splash out...even though that isn't very MSE0 -

OH and I are friends again lol(despite the fact that he measured up our ironing board so I could get a new cover for it, and when I tried to put it on, the ironing board must have magically grown since he measured it, as it was about 10cm longer when I measured it after the ironing board cover didn't fit...... :rotfl: )
Best laid plans and all that...
Original plan yesterday was to hammer the ground spike for our airer into the ground, put some carpet cleaner down into our stinky cupboard and scrub it in, then head off to the gym, then pamper myself.
This turned into:
Spike partially in the ground, but I'm too weak to make it go any further :rotfl: rang brother to see if he could help, he could but his car was not working so I drove down and got him (40 min round trip) and took him home again, was about 9pm by the time I got back from the second trip :rotfl: which literally left time to cook and eat dinner and tidy up and that's it :rotfl:
So, some of it has been pushed back for tonight. We have the kids tonight but I can still get my pampering done in between doing other things. We're also going swimming tonight and I used a lot of arm power trying to hammer the damned spike into the ground, so don't feel too bad about missing the gym :rotfl:
Sooooo looking forward to my day off tomorrow, the last ones with the move didn't really feel like days off but as we are out and about it should feel like a fun day! Going to throw a chilli in the slow cooker before we head out tomorrow morning, so it should be lovely and ready when we get back in the evening, and easy to dish up0 -
Well, it seems I will be driving backwards and forwards again this evening, I had ordered my parcel to work as I am here all day and no one is home at home, and it's getting delivered between 7pm and 9pm this evening.... I finish at 6.
With small parcels I tend not to be fussed but these were not cheap! So, I will have to drive back down once I know the parcel has been delivered, and then drive back home again.
I was going to speak to the usual delivery guy but he has not come by yet, in the hope that he would be able to contact whoever has it. He's usually here by now, but keeping my fingers crossed something can be sorted.
Otherwise, I'll have done my commute 5 times in 2 days! Thankfully, I won't be driving to work tomorrow so at least that's some way of recouping my mileage.
ETA - Crisis averted. Received an apology text saying they have to change the slot and it will be here by 1. Nothing to apologise for in my eyes :rotfl:0 -
Work almost done until Sunday
Need to spend another £3 today exchanging the ironing board cover for a bigger one, and whatever gets spent tomorrow, then I should be able to crack on with the NSDs. It'll be tight to hit my £20 target, but we shall see
Off swimming with the kids after work, meeting OH there, stopping at Argos on the way to do the cover swap over.
Planning to get up early tomorrow (like I'll have a choice with my body clock) and get an hour or two in with the online work, as we will be out for most of the day. Then back to the part time job on Sunday.
Hoping tomorrow is a good day, I'm not supposed to drink much with my meds and OH is off of pop at the moment as he was being super gassy!!! So I hope there will be something non-fizzy and non-alcoholic to suit our needs. I've never been to a horse racing course before, but I imagine it will be expensive. My dad will know the drill as he's been a few times for some music events, so that's something at least. Who knows, we may even have a win!0 -
What a good weekend!
I had a lovely time at the races on Saturday with OH and seeing my dad, I was glad I chose not to wear a floaty dress as it was super windy! I ended up winning on the last race with one of the least favourite horses, which covered my wagers for the day and also the money I had spent on food and drink, so very pleased with that
Up early this morning full of beans so I got a washing done and out on the line before leaving for work, and even had time to eat breakfast at home for a change. I'm sure it's to do with generally being more active with the gym and swimming these days - we swam Friday, I went to the gym last night, and we are going again this evening.
Tomorrow should be the day that I get paid and can clear the next two debts, very much looking forward to that. Once they are paid and the savings are allocated, I shall see how my budget looks
Hope everyone has a great Monday!0 -
What a lovely Tuesday!
Goodbye DT2 :hello:
Goodbye DT3 :hello:
Savings now:
Car stuff next year: £117 (16%)
EF: £50 (better than nowt)
HTB ISA: £55 (better than nowt)
Everything is balanced, got some money left over after shuffling and juggling everything, but just going to sit on it and see what the month brings. I need to pick up some new work trousers today, but that's about it
Short and sweet post, don't need to add much more, two debts paid off and savings acquired0 -
Bye bye DT3 and DT3 :wave: you're doing so well, go you! Pleased you had a good time at the races on Saturday too, especially covering your spends with a win, that's brilliant :beer:0

Thank you DITRfeels so good to see both of those balances at £0!
Put my first bet down to kick off my matched betting also, so should be some more profit to add later on. I will probably wait until I have £100 profit to cash anything out and pay it off of a debt, that seems like a nice round number to aim for.
It's a beautiful day outside today, makes me actually wish I had enough washing this morning to do some to put out on the line :rotfl: I said to OH I felt adult yesterday as it was my third day in a row of grumbling that it had rained when I'd put the washing out even though it wasn't forecast :rotfl: oh well, it still all dried by the time I got home from work!
We went to the gym briefly last night, and we will be gym & swimming on Thursday so I am giving myself a night off tonight, hoping to potter around in the garden a bit and do some tidying up, but mostly just chilling!
I've been listening to a very interesting audiobook lately whilst driving/at the gym. I always intended to start my subscription again once I got my bluetooth stereo set up, and when I went to join again it told me I could have another 30-day free trial and 2 free credits.
It's called Atomic Habits and is all about breaking bad habits and forming new ones, and it's quite fascinating. One idea I like is "habit stacking", so doing something you want to make a habit straight after something that is already a habit. So, making a coffee in the morning is a habit that is ingrained in my very being lol, so if I was to add in "making a to-do list for the day" whilst I wait for the kettle to boil, it should very easily become a habit. I can see how it works! He talks about loads more than that which also all makes sense, but that was the easiest example I could think of. I like the idea of being able to break and make habits, and all of the thought processes and instincts behind all of it. I am going to do some musing today and work out which habits I think would make life better/easier and how I can "stack" them in
I ordered a couple of bits from the next clearance yesterday (grand total of £29 for three items) as a mini-reward for the extra work I'm doing and still waaaay within my budget, but I'm going to work now with the "one in, one out" concept, so need to remove three items tonight. I was encouraged to believe this is meant to be when I came home yesterday to a charity bag through the post box- easy peasy :rotfl:0 -
