  • My laptop conspired against me last night, I was trying to stop it running so slowly and ended up with a massive update even though it did one the other day... :rotfl:

£25 withdrawn from the MP pot this morning and paid to the EF, I imagine by this time tomorrow, I will have withdrawn another £25 to put into my HTB. Go me ;) that will be most of the easy MB offers taken up though, so I imagine it will go a little slower from here.

I also made a £7ish OP to DT4 this morning, and will be making another £10ish OP to it tomorrow, which will take it to nearly 35% paid.

Bought the new iron yesterday (cordless, very exciting, very sad that I was excited by it) and it was great other than the fact that it was spitting what looked liked limescale from the very first use, so I have reserved another one to swap it for, but can't do that until Thursday when it's in stock. Other than that, it was awesome.

I am getting very good at not minding returning things now, took back a £2 lightbulb to Wilko today as I picked up the one with the wrong end on it, usually I would have thought "it's easier to lose £2 than to fuss around taking it back", but take it back I did! That £2 will get thrown towards DT4 along with some other OP at some point.

Tonight was supposed to be a gym night, but I am still super achy from lifeguard duties of the little one on Sunday, should calm down by tomorrow though, so will aim to go on Thursday instead.

Whilst I am not achieving very many NSD's at the moment, we are still in the first month or so of settling into home, so that should die down soon. It is OH's birthday next month, but I will try and have "planned spend days" to try and keep them down to a minimum and buy everything I expect to need, on the same days :D

    Very true - thank you :o x
  • Happy hump day!

Another £11 paid this morning towards DT4, so 35% paid now. I am just waiting for some money to go from my betfair account to my bank account, and then I will be paying the next £25 into my HTB, making that £80.

Forgot to say, I have a costco membership as I work for myself with the online work, and figured out it was worth the £20 membership cost just for the fuel price - I will save £2-£3 every fill up, OH will save even more than that as his is diesel, so it will pay for itself very quickly!

I've already relisted an item on eBay this morning that has been on there for months, so hopefully that's a bit more successful with the new price.

We are off out tonight for a cheap and cheerful pub grub meal with my friends I usually see midweek, with kids in tow as it is the only night we have them both before they go away, so we are all going out together. Then I think I have one more night with the boy tomorrow, then I get the house to myself all night on Friday night!!! :D (until OH gets in from work, I'm not making him stay out of the house :rotfl:)

We got a free window clean at the start of the week, obviously the previous tenants must have used them on a regular basis and not mentioned they'd moved, as we had a slip through the door asking for £12 but OH phoned and said we had just moved in, so they apologised and said there would be no charge lol :)

Need to go and pick up my prescription on my lunch break today, they were running late yesterday so I said I would just go back today. Feel much more level headed these days and less miserable and lethargic, so it seems to have been the right choice to make!

Great news on the savings and bonus clean windows :D

Level headed, slightly happier with a bit of energy is a step in the right direction X

It will all fall into place soon :)

    Thank you :D

It's Friday at last, so nearly done with the 10 hour days!

I had a nice letter from one of my CC companies yesterday telling me my interest rate will be going up - that's nice, I won't hold a balance by the end of the year so not exactly bothered :rotfl:

On a more positive note, DT1 has now been marked as settled/closed/whatever on one of my credit files, so that was nice to see.

5 days until I get paid from the weekend job, also 5 days until the mechanic takes my car in. I am mentally preparing myself to possibly have to use my EF and some of the car money for next year in the event that it is expensive, but that can be rebuilt and it's better than getting more debt for it! That's what things like that are there for, after all.

Lots of housework to be getting on with this evening, I need to:
    - Hoover upstairs and downstairs
    - Mop downstairs
    - Clean bathroom
    - Date check fridge
    - Empty bins

There's a few jobs I've been putting off until OH's boy went home this morning, some jobs are just pointless whilst there are kids in the house lol.

    However last night I did:
    - swap our new iron for another new one as it was spitting lots of stuff from the very first use, the new one seems a lot better
    - hoover the mats etc in my car (I borrowed the extension reel we have at work)
    - sorted my tyre pressures (after OH and I went halves on a digital one to use at home :D )
    - one load of washing (more will be done across the weekend with the lovely weather)

OH and I will also be tackling the garden on Sunday, we need to move the rotary airer as (despite measuring what the instructions said) the airer will be poking into next doors fence if we put the stake fully into the ground like it needs to be. OH also wants to mow the grass, and then put some more grass seed down as it's a bit patchy in places.

I am hoping to be able to get my hair trimmed today, then that will be the last time chancing it at a walk-in, as I am planning to visit one of the hairdresser's in the new town we live in on Saturday morning, and hopefully get myself booked in to have my hair properly coloured next month. I have booked a week off from work as it is OH's birthday on the Tuesday, we have our free tickets to Thorpe park on the Thursday, so I fancied giving myself the full week (bar the weekend) off of work :o it always gives me a chance to get bits done that I can't otherwise do working all day in the week.

Bit of a halt on the MB at the moment as one site that has my money is having maintenance issues (apparently) so can't work out my figures until I know how much is in there. Still, plenty made so far, and no real rush to hammer it every single day.

Glad to see the sun is shining today, meeting my Nan for lunch today as she could not make it on our usual day yesterday, so should be a lovely day!
  • Silly me forgot to schedule in some me-time for this evening :naughty:

I do plan on having some down time with a hair mask and a face mask, and probably a DIY pedicure. Maybe a bath if I can be bothered to wait half an hour for the bath to fill up!

Got my hair cut - it was a man that did it as some of the girls have quit so one of the men that is usually in the barbers was doing hair today. He only charged me £10 as well as he didn't think he'd done much with just having done a quick and basic trim, so saved myself £7/£8 there as well.

Checked our energy account today and both addresses are still showing, the old address is £40 in credit and the new address is over £80 in credit as they still took the bill of over £100 even though we haven't used that much gas & elec for a long time, so have told OH to chase that as he never really bothers. I imagine we will be waiting for some kind of final bill for the old house, but it'll definitely end up in credit still as I was meticulous with weekly meter readings and made sure the closing readings were correct. Now that I know the new address is on the provider account now, I'll do some meter readings when I get home. Can't imagine they will be massive, we've literally only had the heating on for a day or two in a month.

    5 days to payday #1.
    7 days to payday #2.
21 days to payday #3 and some more debt-destroying :T:T

I like the self care plan. Hope you get an energy refund soon.

  • I hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather - after seeing how much sun we get in the garden yesterday, I convinced OH to get us some sun loungers, which are arriving today :rotfl:

We got the lawn mowed, and grass seed put down, and used the hose I bought for the first time. I also put some compost down on my plants I put outdoors as the mud out there is very dry and not very healthy-looking, and one of my bright purple flowers is losing its colour, so hoping that and lots and lots of watering will help!

Airer got moved, it still doesn't go fully into the ground (I think the ground past a certain point must just be solid, as in two different places it wouldn't budge after a certain depth) but at least we can make use of all of it now without having to worry about stuff hanging over into next door's garden :rotfl:

Only a few hours at work today, then home to pop some more washing outside to dry, then wait for OH to get home. Have a small mountain of ironing that has accumulated, but may wait until much later this evening to do it, so it's not quite as hot!

I have booked in to get my hair properly done next month, all well within budget so looking forward to having properly coloured, nice-looking hair for the first time in years. A welcome treat for all of the hours I am doing.

I did a little extra over the weekend as we had a staff sickness, was very busy but went very quickly so didn't feel like too much extra work!
