Thank you
It does feel nice knowing I have some savings behind me, no matter how small!0 -
This evening is going to be (partially) spent getting all the little nit picky jobs done that I/we always put off, such as:
- find the printer a permanent home since we had to get it out of it's box the other day for the first time, we don't have the space to permanently house it on the dining table!
- pot the plant my great aunt got me as a moving-in gift
- get the toiletries out of the bathroom that are my ones I use much less often, and can be stored outside of the bathroom as we don't have huge amounts of space (OH unpacked all these bits, I had no intention of putting them in the bathroom)
- re-arrange some of the kitchen cupboards now that we have been there for a while and I know what works well/what doesn't work well
- clean my watch strap
- pop my library books into my car, ready to take back tomorrow
- file away paperwork in various places
All the little mundane bits that soon add up to feeling like you have a lot to do!
I got my work trousers but they were too small :rotfl: luckily there's another store on my way home, so will get a longer size leg0 -

I do love a completed to-do list! I also went through my handbag and threw out all of the junk, and sorted out my bedside drawers to utilise one for the things I tend to dig for in the bigger drawer e.g. my black work socks. I also got a load of washing done, and managed a hair mask and face mask to boot
Made around £12 matched betting yesterday, one I had done overnight got suspended so need to a) work out what happens with that and b) get a new one rolling to hopefully have made some more by this evening.
I will allocated the £100 when I cash out as follows:
£50 to a debt
£25 to EF
£25 to HTB
That seems like quite a good spread as my debt clearances are more than covered each month provided the online work stays strong, so this is just helping move it along a little quicker.
My trousers from Next were too short in the leg - either that or they are designed to be short, but either way I looked ridiculous, so returning those later. The top and skirt were nice though and very bargainous! So my errands for my lunch hour will be to return my library books, and my trousers.0 -
Nearly Friday, everyone!
Plodding through the week at the moment, had hoped to have a NSD today but opted to buy my nan a lovely bunch of flowers to give her today, as I know she has a lot on her plate at the moment, and she really appreciated themas it's already become a spendy day, I will stop via Mr S on the way home and pick up some drain unblocker, our bath keeps slowly filling up when you're stood using the shower lol
By tomorrow, I will have amassed my first £50 in matched betting, so not sure whether to cash it out then to pay off DT4, or wait until I've got full £100 I am aiming for, and divide it all out at the same time. It doesn't really make much difference either way.
Gyming/swimming after work tonight (feels good to be back in a fitness routine) with OH, who has suggested he may take me on a date night tomorrow night! Lucky me
Returning some trousers on my way home, too, so that'll be some money coming back, but I'll just leave that in my bank account, for now. My mechanic will pick up/drop off my car to inspect the brakes and the rattling noise, but is away for a week from tonight, so need to keep my money good to cover any costs that will incur.
Should finally get some more NSD's over the weekend, working all weekend as per, although we will be swimming with the kiddos on Sunday which will be good as they have the slide and the inflatables out for them on a Sunday, apparently.0 -
Happy Friday! :j
Will get another £10 back from matched betting today, so have opted to take out £50 and pay it off of my current DT, so that's just over 20% paid now
My new habit I've been trying to "stack" as per my audiobook, is writing a physical to-do list in a pocket-sized notebook when I have my morning coffee. So far, it's helped me remember to bring two things to work to return to people that I've been constantly forgetting lol.
Next step with MB will be to make the next £50 and split that 50/50 between my EF and my HTB. If you asked me 3 months ago if I thought I'd be clearing debts and saving all in one go, I'd have laughed! But, there you go, life surprises you. All I needed was a chance to make some extra and make some real leeway, and I got it, so making the most of it whilst I have it!
Have discussed with OH that once I am debt-free (easily by Christmas) then I will pack in the weekend job, it was only designed to be temporary but the discount at two shops will come in handy before Christmas. The hours I lose there, I should be able to pick up some extra online work hours at the weekend provided it is still ongoing, so not a big loss.
Either way, once I have no debt I'll have the room in my budget to still be saving every month on just the full time wage if necessary. My ideal plan is to still be doing the online work long enough to be able to get a newer car than the one I've got, by the time it comes to insurance renewal in April/May. This'll be easy once I have no debt payments.0 -
Just updated my spreadsheet, and my total debt now is just over £4k, by less than £100! This means that, this time next month,my debt total will be well under £3.5k, the least it has been for quite some time now! Now that, is every exciting!
I am looking forward to when my credit reports start to update with the closed debts and lower utilisation, they've looked very unhealthy for a long time.
So, as it stands before the next payday I will have:
- paid off nearly £1k in debt since I started being truly serious about it
- built up a small EF of £75
- have a small amount of £80 in my HTB
- have nearly £120 towards my car costs for next year
- still have money at the end of the month for the first time in a long time
Just a little post to myself to acknowledge what I've been able to do so far! Looking forward to the next one in a month where I get to say:
- debt lowest than it has been in years
- over £100 in an EF
- nearly £150 into my HTB
- nearly £200 towards my car costs for next year
Happy with that :T0 -

Thank you
Just over £11 received overnight from some survey bits & pieces, so rounded that up to £12 and paid off of DT4, nearly a third paid off. When the money from PA clears, it'll be just over a third paid, and my debt will only be £50 over £4k  so, naturally, I am determined to somehow make that extra £50 before payday :rotfl: we will see!
Up early this morning as OH had work early, so got my first wash of the day in the washing machine to go outside whilst I am at work, and will pop another load in to finish when I am due home from work, so the washing will pretty much be caught up on. Then food shopping tonight, and just chilling out, really. Our local gym shuts early on a Saturday, else I would be there after work.
Should make another £8/£9 tonight from MB, forgot how easy it was once you had money you didn't need to touch. It was good to see the new balance on DT4 this morning reflected with the £50 overpayment, this is one I need to phone up and close once it is cleared as you pay a monthly fee on it.
I *think* the snowball money from having cleared the other debts (around £80) I am going to pay off one of the debts due to be cleared further down the line, just because it would take it under the next hundred balance-wise, and would make my utilisation look a bit better. The snowball was never going to the next two DT's as they have their balance to be cleared factored into my monthly budget, so want to pay it off of another one to make the general picture look a bit healthier. It also means less of the DD for that one will be lost to interest, so makes sense.
Right - the washing machine is calling me, so best crack on with things x0 -
Absolutely amazing the progress you are making, its got to be such a nice feeling to keep seeing these targets set and then disappear, just can't wait to see the update that tells us that your at the lowest debt figure you have been at
Matched betting is something i have looked at before so think i need to have a proper look, i remember not starting as i did not really have the free funds to do so. Defo seems to be going well for you and every little helps right?
Well done on the progress0 -

Had a busy day yesterday with work and then family swim at the swimming pool - giant inflatable with a slide on the end, and an 8 year old who has not long finished swimming lessons = lots of swimming backwards and forwards on potential lifeguard duty :rotfl: then my laptop took hours and hours to do an update, so didn't get on yesterday.
Nearly at the next £25 with MB, will cash that out at £25 and allocate it to the EF, then continue towards the next £25 for my HTB.
Still spending unfortunately, but pesky things like our iron has stopped working (luckily I now have staff discount for my second job so saving money on it) and light bulbs that need replacing. Oh well. At least I've got the money eh?
I have now lost over a stone since coming back from my holiday in Feb :T:T don't plan on losing any more, but this is the healthiest weight I've been for a while
I will get on properly to catch up with everyone later on, got a bit of a manic morning but will be on properly this evening as we have got OH's boy until Thursday so my night at home will be quiet, as he will just be on the Playstation no doubt, so will catch up on here properly before tackling Mount Ironing :rotfl:0
